Oh a month ago they were faded and cracked, the California sun is just as brutal. I just spent 5k getting it repainted and all new exterior trim and seals, and even though I told the guy interior was a problem for later, he apparently got bored or something waiting for trim pieces show up. So he got some color matched paint and repaired them for me.
Tbh until I saw this thread, I was just gonna roll with the old ones.

It looks like the color you ordered is Slate. If you have a 98 TJ, that's not a match.
Go back to my first post you'll see the box it came in and the part number is on the box. It's the grey part number from the OP.
I ordered a set today. Hoping they don't get destroyed during shipping. My driver door has always bothered me with a good a repair job as i did but i have always been on the lookout for a replacement set. The fact these are brand new (non brittle, non new old stock) makes it a no brainer. And yeah, i made the same mistake as some have pointed out, when i saw the Summit Racing link i first thought the price was for 'EACH' door panel instead of for the pair. Hell yeah.
Hey, I was the one that got the beat up shipment via UPS. I can confirm, Summit's CS rep through WhatsApp took care of me, I've got a new shipment coming. Though they did try to lowball me at first, just offer me $50 off if I could "fix" them myself. But after I said no, they filed the damage claim w/ UPS and shipped a new set. New set shows up tomorrow according to tracking.
Thanks for understanding, always have new parts bugs to work out on new parts to market. I'm working on better packaging and always welcome suggestions to improve. Received the final samples on the half door panels and will test them next week.

If I had any suggestions, it might be some more bubble wrap or some thin foam around the interior of the box to surround the panels inside. Anything to give the box some more structure while also having padding for the panels from rubbing on each other.
All the tape on the ends was busted, and the skinny sides were all collapsed. UPS def smashed the box under the weight of something else, and if I had to guess that made the panel rub up on something enough to scuff it. If it helps I can take more pictures of the box and panels. (Though I do forget exactly how they were originally packed within the box orientation-wise).

This is pretty awesome, my drivers side panel has the crack and have been on the lookout for a replacement. no brainer on these. Hoping to see someone compare the khaki to an original.
Can’t wait for the 1/2 door cards. I’ll be jumping on-board with those in the future. Assuming the color matches the 04 black or whatever color it actually is? Agate, Dark Slate, ect….

I think I have a UPS guy that hates me. My replacement set came today. The box was actually worse than the first one. On one side, the tape was split halfway open. On the other side the corner was so beat up it ripped halfway open and the little inner flap was sticking out.
I didn't take pictures of the panels themselves because I had to get to the airport. But I did inspect them and somehow they're in better shape than the first. There are definitely are scuff areas similar to the first set. But they're much smaller and down lower on the panels. But one of the panels does have a scuff on the top edge near what would be towards the rear of the door.
Dunno what to do here. When I get back home next week I'll inspect more closely. I don't want to keep complaining to Summit CS and keep ending up in this situation.

You paid $500 for a pair of new plastic door cards, that's 500 reasons to keeping going through the process until you're satisfied. You aren't complaining. It isn't your fault UPS is being typically UPS and the Summit packaging isn't up to snuff.

Good morning, I'm at the Hot August Nights show and working remotely. We are re-boxing all the boxes in stock and the supplier will be adding better boxes and packing material on the next re-stocking orders. Thank you for your patience and good luck with your Jeep!
What should I do here? If I contact Summit CS when I get back home, is there a chance I can get yet another set with the better packing materials?
Again, I appreciate your hard work here. I know launching a product there's always bugs to be worked out.
I'm contacting C/S now and will see what the plan will be. I asked them to inspect the next set before shipping them along with the better boxing.
