TJ / LJ Full Door Panels Available From Summit

The price is quite attractive for the set, I first thought they were sold individually.

Thank you for doing this! My full doors have the dreaded crack & I just bought half doors that have a crack at the front. I planned on refurbishing them this winter, I'll be excited to see these get produced!

Would a TJ half door inner fit on a YJ door? Probably not because the handles are in different spots huh.

@toximus created an interior color thread many years ago. Maybe that'll help:

Thanks for that. "Mist Grey" is likely, but it's so faded I wasn't sure. Blue exterior and blue seat fabric made me thing the door panels would have been blue, too.

I don’t know about anyone else, but my hvac plastic vents are cracked and broken and the only option for replacement is very pricey salvage. If Summit can source manufacturing for the door panels, I bet they can do other interior plastics such as those vents.

What part is broken? I created some 3d printable models to fix the broken parts of mine.

I could probably print you some of the pieces if the main body of the vent is still good.

Bought a set of the Grey for my 98.

Shipped incredibly fast out of their Sparks NV warehouse. Unfortunately, UPS beat the hell out of the box in shipment, and the panels are only protected by a single layer of bubble wrap.

Upon opening and inspection, one of the panels somehow to scuffed up on the top. Reaching out to Summit to try and exchange. I know that eventually I'll scuff them myself, but I feel like for the money they should package them better.

They definitely shouldn't be scuffed, I'd expect them to be immaculate for the asking price. I imagine they'll address it, probably not so good for future sales if they don't. Thanks for posting.

Yeah, that was my feeling too.

Anyways, used Summit's WhatsApp as I've used in the past for CS w/ them. I've got a new set coming. At first they literally asked "can you just fix it? we'll give you $50 off for your trouble" and I told them "if I could fix it without ruining the pattern stamped in the plastic, I'd just fix my original ones". At that point, they said they were able to file a damage claim w/ UPS and put another set out for delivery for me. Let's hope UPS doesn't suck this time.

I must say, I have had good experience with Summit customer support. I got a Mopar radiator from them right before they became unobtainium, and it arrived with a broken petcock. I called and asked if they could just send me a replacement petcock, and they sent me another entire radiator. So now I have a spare, minus one fully intact petcock!

Fedex sent one of my new YJ seats on an extended journey and beat the crap out of the box and taped it together. Fortunately, not even a mark on the bag the seat was in.

Edit, it was FedEx.

Sucks about the scuffs, and I'd also want a new set. But other than the scuffs, how is the quality? Does it match well to your existing interior?
Attached more pictures, comparing them to my dash and the existing panels. There is a caveat though with the current panels, they've been painted by the body shop who got some custom paint mixed up for them.

One this is definitely sure, the pattern molded into the panel is slightly different. Again, I wonder if that's just something that was changed on later models.

Either way, good enough for me. Still looks better than the one with a sanded and patched crack. Worst case it annoys me and I guess I paint them using the paint the body shop gave me. They have some heft to them too. I'm going to install in a few weeks when I get back from traveling. I can compare overall build quality more then. And the color against the back of the original panels that will not be faded/painted.
Thanks for posting the pics. I was wondering about the color for my '98 since it's so faded, and that looks like the right color.

Oh, did the dog approve of them?

Once she realized it was not food, she was quite indifferent.
