Savvy slider (and corner armor) install tips

Yeah I'm gunna try to track down some thin flange nutserts for the slider to bolt into.
As far as the front fender goes... I dunno, I'm gunna have to think about that one. I've got thoughts of machining small fender washers with a very thin 17/32 raised portion that will center in the oversized holes. But I need to just quit and revisit it in the morning.
Thanks for all your help MrBlaine, I appreciate it.
You don't need to do anything but use the washer.

You guys have helped me out so much, and i really appreciate it! I've got the driver side done, and it looks great. I just clamped up the passanger side, and i'm getting a strange gap that wasn't on the driver side. The gap is only at the front wheel well, the rear is tight just like the driver side was (which had matching gaps).

This is making me think that my fender might just be bent in? Just wanted your guys input to make sure theres nothing i can do before i start drilling holes.

@mrblaine have you ever run into this with "not straight" tubs?

This is the rear wheel well on the same side. on the divers side, they both looked like this. 👇

EDIT:

Ok, started looking at it some more and it's definitely the front fender. I must've had a little crunch at some point that i never noticed. It looks like it pulled the fender in ever so slightly. I will attempt to pound it back out. So any suggestions to pull it flush? Should i just drill it and let the fender washers pull it in?

I'm going to have to remember that. That actually would have saved me a bit with the armor I installed last week.
That isn't the cheapest for quality parts. Jay-Cee has the same for 23.80 per 100. They are much closer to you than Hanson. Hanson is local is why I used them.

I use McMaster as a need it fast last resort when I screwed up and forgot to order something. They are rarely ever close to economical, they just have a lot of crap and get it to you in a hurry with the associated premium for doing so.

I probably use McMaster more than I should. In addition to being fast when I don't want to track down quality manufactures for each of those little bits it's faster and less risk of getting something of subpar quality. I've been there, done that with nutserts and it's never worth it. Last year with my build I placed multiple orders every month all year long.

This thread has been super informative.

I've got a set of Savvy sliders ready to install on my LJ but waiting on the corners to arrive so I can match them up together.

I e-mailed about instructions for the sliders but never got a response. Does anyone have a copy of the slider and/or corner instructions? Do they exist? Or should I just piece it together from the various forum posts and figure it out as I go?

I'd still read the installing tips here, namely regarding drilling the holes, since it'll make your life easier.

Beautiful. Thank you!

I definitely intend to go through this thread again once I have the corner armor and am ready to start tackling the install. My current thought is corner armor first then sliders so I can move them to fit snugly against the corner. Does that sound like the best way to tackle it?

Rockers/sliders first.

X2, so you can get the corners properly positioned to join up properly with the rockers.
Even better! I’ve been anxious to start but thought waiting on corners to start would be the way to go. If sliders first is the way then I can get started this weekend.
As always, thanks for the help guys.

My rear fenders were cut by the PO so I can't center the sliders per the instructions. I used the front wheel well as a guide and noticed that in @Vasq pictures 2 of the factory nutserts were inside 2 holes on the sliders. I'm using that as a guide to try and be as centered as possible. Here are front and rear holes in question with slider jacked and clamped. Does this look right? And do I end up just drilling out the factory nutserts or do they get ignored?

Edit: I think I found the answer in another thread in case anyone else comes looking. Based on this picture from @Jerry Bransford install in this thread https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/rock-sliders-rocker-guards-guide.8704/page-8#post-327903 it looks like those nutserts get ignored, and they should roughly line up with those holes in the sliders.

If this is incorrect, someone please correct me in case anyone else finds this thread.
