With the help of some Team members and my own Jeep, we have made a reproduction of the discontinued full door panels and improved the area that was prone to splitting. We have made all the factory colors from actual OE samples and we included new clips and window handle clips also. I have installed several samples before approving them to be made. They are a tight fit and once installed look fantastic.

About feckin' time someone hit these. No bullshit, I've got a 3D scanner arriving today (for other purposes), but one Jeep related item was scanning a set of half door cards to make a mold for fabricating them in fiberglass. Looks like I can remove that potential project from the list...

I do hope Summit won't be bumping the price up shortly after release like they did with the seat foam.

Wow, that is great news. I was just thinking about how to fix my split panel this weekend. Summit is killing it lately while the "traditional" Jeep parts companies are just getting more and more packed with Chinese crap.

Probably have a tidy little side gig supplying just correct color and quality inserts.

Safe to assume the two sets of Crown inserts I just purchased are shit then (I know the color is off)? I can pretty much guarantee their interior half door handles are, betting the lever snaps within 3-6 months...

I was searching the internet last night trying to locate a good set of panels debating spending the money and risking what I'd actually receive. This sounds like a better alternative.

If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on Summit just agreeing to fund the fruits of some very motivated individuals and their work to get this stuff done. Nothing against Summit whatsoever but they have never struck me as the innovators for something like this. This seems like it comes from motivated enthusiasts with some great connections. I've been wrong before and will be again though.

Unfortunately, this is not just a Jeep parts thing. I don't think most appreciate exactly how much of what the world consumes is produced in Southeast Asia, and China specifically. It's not by accident, either.

Sadly, I am aware. I guess mostly what I was saying is that Summit (who I always thought of as just hot rod and drag race parts), of all places is putting time, money and effort into making new products for old Jeeps that we really want and are honestly probably a small market. While the traditional all off-road relaters are just doing the Amazon thing. Summit keeps earning more of my business for other things too when they do this kind of stuff. I started to include them in my parts searches after picking up the seat foams they put out, and I have been really happy with their prices and parts availability and shipping times.
