Regeared the LJ over the weekend.

Original carrier bearings.

We found a slice across the seal surface on the driver's side rear shaft where someone haphazardly changed the wheel bearing in the past. It'll probably start leaking again but at least I know why.

The drivers side front u-joint has exploded too and it looks like the yoke ears wore away the edges of the wheel bearing bolts.

I think the front driveshaft CV joint is causing some bad vibration and roar over 60mph now. It would be clocking something like 3500rpm at those speeds and with, probably, 180k miles of no maintenance I feel like that's the source.

Looking forward to getting some larger tires this summer!

For now I plan to source a new rear shaft and start rebuilding the drive shafts.

With the issues I'm having with the cam and crank position sensors, I'm fairly certain I got the "barrel of monkeys" chirp from my OPDA a few days ago.

I ordered the Crown OPDA and the RockJock rear track bar this morning.

Trying to finish out my RJ 4" lift as funds become available. I need to put the Xterra back to stock so I can sell the suspension stuff from it to fund more Jeep parts.

Not sure who actually made it and that may have changed since then but the OPDA I got from car quest has been running strong for years.

I had ordered a set of the Revolution Discovery shafts from Northridge4x4 and when they arrived, 4 of the studs were missing.

I installed the drivers side a few weeks ago to replace the shaft with the cut seal surface. Northridge4x4 got the replacement studs shipped and after a tour of the ENTIRE USA, they arrived.

Today I got the passenger shaft installed. The I started assembling the parking brakes from scratch. After getting the passenger side assembled wrong, pulling it apart and starting again, I realized that with the larger flange on the Revolution shafts, you have to pull the shaft to get the parking brakes assembled.

So, I pulled the shafts, assembled the brakes, and got it all working.

Next I replaced the damaged front wheel bearing bolts, greased everything and rotated the tires.

Took a 5 hour round trip last weekend to pick up the 1/4 beef I bought from a friend. On the way home, I had some rough idle issues. Watching the live data, the bank 1 (first 3 cylinders) STFT went way negative during the rough idle. Like -15 to -18%. Once the idle smoothed out, it returned to numbers that matched the bank 2 STFT.

I dumped a double dose of Seafoam in the tank this week and it's not making much difference. Today I was doing a visual inspection of everything and saw that the #3 injector is cracked. It's not leaking, just a split in the body.

Tonight I ordered a full set of the remanufactured Bosch 4 hole injectors that are supposed to be factory matched and have a lifetime warranty.

Slowly getting this thing in order

Since I've got a cracked injector and have ordered the Bosch 4 hole replacements, I grabbed a DEI insulation kit for the fuel system as well.

Maybe I'll get the aluminum valve cover out and clean it up this week and be ready for a full swap out once my parts arrive. Considering the Harlan-Sharp roller rockers to round out the "while I'm in there" list. Ugh.

While I'm waiting for the second coat of paint on my RENIX valve cover to dry, I opened my Bestop HOSS window storage roll. It works well with the LJ top. That'll be nice this summer on longer trips with the top down.

Scored a pair of the heavier Dodge Dana 44 covers today as well as another aluminum valve cover and some nicer underhood brackets from the you-pull-it yard today. It's always a good time roaming around in there.

The spice door upper on the driver side was pretty trashed when I got the half doors but the window finally broke loose and the stitches were all failing. The passenger side was an OK original but was coming undone as well so yesterday I swapped on the Smittybilt upper skins I picked up last year.

Yesterday we finished up the RockJock 4" lift. I used the RS5000X shocks and for now, I'm using the JKS disconnects for now. They work well enough for the time being.

I also need a new steering stabilizer as well.

I need new rear brake lines now as well. Are the Dana 35 disc brake lines on the axle the same as the Dana 44?

I'm wanting to find some stainless lines for it and since the Dana 44 lines are made together with the caliper hoses I was curious if they would interchange.

I'm also torn on tire size. Considering 285/75/16s or possibly stepping up to 295/75/16s if I can find a set I like. We'll have to see how that works out cause the truck is about ready for a new set of 285s as well and I usually swap the used tires to the 4x4 to wear out.
