Engine swap ideas

It would be great in a TJ honestly, especially since I believe you can pick the cylinder head you want to use, that would allow you to put the exhaust manifold on whichever side of the engine best worked for you.

It does look interesting. There website does not list anything but the article itself. Hopefully someday it might be available.

being a pushrod engine i don't see how you could flip the cylinder head around to chose manifold orientation?

I'm trying to find the article that talked about it, I swear I read that you could use either LS head so you could orientate the intake and exhaust where you needed it to go in your engine bay.

Sure , you could orientate the manifolds to either side , But as Rickyd said the pushrods always would stay on the same side off the block.....

I’ve been reading a lot about swapping an engine and I’ve asked a lot of people about swapping an engine. Some people tell me to go all out and swap a 5.7 Hemi into my wrangler and others tell me to put a 4bt in my wrangler, even going as far as to say a kubota and I’m just wondering what you all have to say I’m open to pretty much all ideas this wrangler is my daily except for when I’m doing the swap of course so I’d ask to remember that.
SolarYellowshortbuss,

•we’re just in the final stages of having the CUMMINS 4BT “paintshaker” ready in our ‘05 LJ,powering a chev 4L60E tranny with original TC (3.73:1 diffs ( it’s been a drag with years of delay for mainly medical reasons )
• to each its own, finger pointing aside,
• our project has been coming a long at “turtles / snails -pace”
• I absolutely love the 4 BT for its simplicity and uniqueness
• the question one always has to ask himself is :

Where do I wanna go with it ⁉️

• as for Diesel , a really great setup is a VW-turbo diesel (until ~ 2005 / a company by name COTY , specializes in adapting front and rear of the engine)
• I’ve never talked to anyone in person though who owns a VW- diesel swapped TJ
• as for gas, two fellow jeepers that I know in person, speak highly of their LS - swaps ( including, being DD’s)
