Funny, I’m switching mine to the soft top. The PO had both tops that they gave. Either I misplaced the door frame pieces or they didn’t have them as I can’t locate them. Pretty sure I have the rest of the parts. They kept the soft top in the garage.
LJ with the hard top all day
Of course we're spending your money.

I used to be a hard top guy with my CJs, but I’m really digging the look and function of the soft top on this TJ. I’ve yet to fold it back though. Just took out all the windows so far.

Can anyone enlighten me on what these are? Came in the back of the Jeep…

Letting her idle in the driveway to check transmission fluid and heard this…def seems to be coming from the transmission. Fluid was halfway between the cold and hot marks idling in park.

Sounds worse on the video than in person. Any ideas???

Can't really tell anything about that noise. Check the ATF level in neutral.

Ok. I’ll check again tomorrow in neutral. It’s felt pretty solid so far, but today we went over a mountain on the highway and it shifted “funny” a few times. Never a slip feeling, but hunting and just shifting a little weird/different than normal.

In person almost sounds like lifters ticking but in the front of the transmission…

I thought my transmission was making a loud ticking/rattling at idle and it was actually the rear cat going bad. Maybe that's the code you have? I bought a universal cat for $100 and used band clamps to secure it. You can get direct fit cats as cheap as $250.

Yeah I guess it's possible. I prob need to have them replaced anyways with that code...I need to get directly under it and see exactly where the noise is coming from.

I noticed this morning that when I first started it, there was a different noise coming from the transmission. Almost sounded like fluid rushing around. It changed sounds when shifted into drive or reverse. This noise went away after warming up for maybe 60 seconds or so and didn't come back. Maybe this is normal as the fluid warms up??? I just haven't noticed it before. Today is the first day I drove it to work. It did seem to shift fine going to work this morning.
