If I had a hydraulic lift I’d probably be done by now but laying in the driveway and trying to weld on my back is tricky and exhausting lol

A few more shots of the rusty skid plate bolts and transmission mount. It wasn’t the worst I’ve seen but it was definitely bent up and rusty
Got home from work 85° outside, drop the top, half doors on!
Got some free child labor for about 10 minutes. By the look on her face she loves it as much as her old man does lol the pile of rust is only from the driver side. I have the outside of the driver side cap welded all in. I’m going to move to the passenger side now so I can get the skid lined up before doing the inside welds.
Sat down, made a list of little things needed for the Jeep, opened eBay, and ordered everything, God I love that Site !!!!!!!

Yesterday, failed at initializing a new skim. Today rotated the tires.
The drive home from work today!!! First one is coming down the ridge cut in Chattanooga, the second is passing Nickajack lake on my way home!!!!
The pre fabricated pieces are definitely sturdy as long as you have something to weld to and can run a decent bead lol
On to the passenger side. I got the center pieces tacked in and made sure the skid plate lines up. I’ve had enough Jeep for one day. Hopefully finishing it up tomorrow. I’m sure it will be an all day adventure
I just found a mopar trans mount thought I’d put it on and thought I’d go for the trifecta since I just did new mopar engine mounts w/spacer lift,took it off and it was all broke and using only the failsafe bar to hold it together!
I’ve read a lot of stories about people getting knock offs such as anchor and a few others. I got the prothane one just because it has to be better than the one I had and the price was reasonable. I’ve heard they can cause vibration sometimes but everything already vibrates on my tj lol

Next on my list of purchases, a quality welding shirt. I noticed something smoking while I was welding on my back under my Jeep. Turns out it was me lol I asked my daughter why she didn’t tell me I was on fire lol
Been there, done that. Had the T-shirt, but lost it in the fire…
