Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ radiator

Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

Wow I've had it in and out 4 times trying to get this nut tight and the alignment correct...

I'd finally gotten it marked well so I could see it

It's back in but I need help to tighten the bolts and hold it up high enough.

It's in.... and I did it by myself....

Going to have to build a new bracket for the power steering reservoir. The one that I was using won't fit with this new master cylinder.
If the brakes don't improve I can always go back to the Corvette master cylinder.

Don't know if it's air in the system or what but it just burped on me.... I've got to get the back tires remounted and then take it for a drive and see what happens once I've driven it for a few miles. I'd jacked the frontend off the ground and cycled the steering left & right & then pumped the brakes like I'm supposed to do to bleed the hydroboost.

The shorter belt looks like it's working much better. I will say when I had Hydroboost on my TJ, it was a pain to bleed. Glad I had it for my Kubota setup, but now that my TDI has it's own vacuum pump, I'm not upset to be back to a vacuum brake booster for my setup. That being said once the Hydroboost setup was bleed properly, it worked flawlessly.

I need to look into getting a custom radiator like yours, the factory radiator on mine is barely keeping up. I have a warning light on my gauge to come on at 220° for my coolant and I keep seeing my temps hit 219° on the gauge, but never 220°. I don't like how close my margins are currently, I have no gear or weight in and on my TJ yet, so I know I'll go past the 220° once I do.

Good luck getting everything wrapped up in time!

Have you perused the spal fan thread? Is it heating up at higher speeds?

Hydroboost staying dry?

It burped on me once yesterday. Not sure if it was air in the system or what. I've had more issues trying to get this system bled compared to before. And I don't know why since it's basically the same as it was before.

I went to the hydroboost because I knew I was going to be running larger tires and wanted the extra braking power. And I can say overall when it's working how it's supposed to it does a great job. I just can't seem to get this bled.

So far the cooling system seems to be working as needed. I run around 200* most of the time unless I'm getting on it hard, The Wizard Cooling stuff isn't cheap but as they say you get what you paid for.

So without totally redoing my power steering/hydroboost hoses I'm going to mount the reservoir back onto the grille strut like I'd had before.
What sucks is that I'd cut the old mount off when I'd started this rebuild.

Tacked inplace to check things out.

Back to waiting for the paint to dry 😴.

If I notice it moving I'll make a support bracket for under it.

Don't know what was up with my pictures but they wouldn't load off my phone so I had to come inside and load them onto my computer. Plus it's flipping hot outside so I really needed to get hydrated...

The way it sat when I'd first mounted it.

Then with the spacer on the mount it's almost level now.

I've still got to get the windshield washer bottle hooked up so I can wash my windshield cause I'm sure the trails are gunna be dusty...

I'll go out later once it cools off a little and mess with things more.

FedEx again??

Don't know what knocked it out this time... But it was out for almost 4 hours...

Color me surprised...

God was giving out patience and you thought he was look for patient for any last fixes before he send souls out to the world and you said: "I'm good - send me down".....

;)

A man's got to know his limitations... And I know one of mine is that I am not patient. But it was dry enough.. I'll test things out in the morning.
