Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

Almost out now.... But still not a good thing. They evacuated the fruit stand there at the corner on road towards my house.
My guess either a spark or someone threw their cigarette out their window...

Smoke at my place is a little too much so no outside work for most of the day.

Around here they have started doing control burns along the highways and median while it is wet enough to control. A rare example of California doing something smart with tax money 🙄

Fireworks are illegal in my county 24/7/365. Nice for fire season, but also just nice in general

Fireworks aren't allowed where I live either... But that doesn't stop those who don't care from setting them off... Fireworks didn't use to bother me but I can do without them now.

I was meaning it was the 4th fire near where I live already this year...

Oh haha not July 4th. That's so many already

Here in Florida, the fireworks make it sound like the Battle of the Bulge, the Normandy invasion, and Pearl harbor all rolled into one!

Yep. It's not boding well for when it actually gets dry around here.

I'm glad I don't have to deal with it much. 20 years later some sounds can still take me back...

Yep we do... And I had my reasons for living here back when I bought my home. Would I move tomorrow if I could? Yep... But I'm not in a position to do so.

Yea I took a work transfer to come back to where we are now to be closer to my wife's family. But I would leave the state entirely if I could. We're both just too locked into our careers and retirement plans.

Correct. In theory, interrupting the ground wire would be better so power isn't going through the switch but the underhood is typically grounded to the hood. I can't recall now whether the LED one has a ground and +. If it does - I interrupted the ground (was running a lot of circuits at that time so I can't recall).

But compared to the one Rick put in, the one I linked is supposed to be waterproof - includes a gasket for the mounting ring.

The light in not grounded through the mounting bolt/hood, so I cut into the negative wire, in the light harness.

Hate to say how good I've gotten at swapping out the serpentine belt 😒.
I guess it's not a bad thing if I had to change it on the trail.
And having the belt routing on the hood was nice.

Won't know if it helps the jumping until I can run the engine.

I did have another Hemi swapped TJ owner comment on my video who said his jumps about the same unless he's got the A/C on.

Unless FedEx decides to run into a power pole tomorrow I should be getting the hydroboost as scheduled tomorrow. Just checked and it's left Troutdale, OR & is on it's way to Union Gap, WA as of 1430 today.
So hopefully I'll get it tomorrow and can get it installed Tuesday so I can start testing things out again and see if the new brake master cylinder helps also.

Between the motorhome & Jeep I'll stay busy until early next week. Fingers crossed I'm not "That Guy" who is breaking down on the trail...

Let's just hope the damn thing arrives in good shape and is the correct part! You've been waiting for this thing since Christ was a corporal!

I don't have many worries that they'll send me a good part.... But we'll see... And it's only been down for 2 months more or less.... Just got to hope this one doesn't leak....

Back when I'd first built the Jeep and was waiting on the new driveshafts to arrive it was a Friday and it's around noon and the power goes out... So I can't work on the Jeep without any power, so I'm done for the day. Driveshafts never arrived that Friday and the new delivery day was Monday. Come to find out the reason we'd lost power was a FedEx truck ran into a power pole taking out the pole... And delaying my delivery too.... Never did find out how the accident happened or why...
