I bought my 89 YJ used back in 91 and got hooked. I was looking at buying a new 4wheeler at the time and for the same money I got the Yj. Soon after I bought it the powers that be banded all non street legal vehicles from our local mountain trails. 3+ yrs ago I decided to upgrade and get something with AC and a hard top. The Wife and I searched daily for months and looked at a lot of shit before she found the perfect rig for us 800 miles away in Co. We took a weekend trip up to Denver and made the deal. I got a 05 TJRU and she got a $1000+ shopping trip in Denver. The ride comfort between the YJ and TJ is night and day. Also went from a carb to fuel injection and still kept the reliable straight 6. For the work a Wangler has to do a straight 6 beats a V6 all day long. I still have the YJ but it’s relegated to my kids and guests use. My Son has rolled it twice, that I know about, but it still keeps chugging along.
