When my 2001 sits out in the rain water winds up in the floor mat on the driver side, a good amount depending on how much rain comes down. I have never had this happen when I drive in the rain.

I cannot find where it comes from. It is not wet under the mat. I can't feel water anywhere up under the dash area.

How do I find this leak?

Thanks

Its probably coming in from the fresh air intake under the cowl where your windshield wipers are located and running down where your AC blower is and landing in the floorboard. Unless its like a windshield seal leaking or leaking around the hard top seal.

Do like Rickyd suggested and do the garden hose test. You'll find it.

Is that normal? Can that be fixed?
Take the cowl off and clear out the drain hole/s. Had the same thing once, water was sloshing around in the HVAC and flooding out into the left side footwell when I took sharp corners. Happened after heavy rains and lots of leaves and pollen into the cowl vent. Cleaned out the drainage holes and everything else in there too and it's been fine since.

I sloshed all the water out over a couple of drives with towels in the footwell and ran the blower whenever I drove for a week or so to help with evaporation.

I think it was the drain under the cowl. Thanks guys. I cleaned all that up. Draining good now.

Here is a vid to help the next feller.
