Toyota lights on your TJ! Cheap, quality LED alternative

I feel like I’m doing this right. I used the part number listed in this thread multiple times. I also only ordered one of the part number, as people say it includes both lamps. If I ordered correctly, I just got this kit for $16.99 to my local dealership.

Update on my install. Had them going and aligned up the Hella 100/55 bulbs, but they just weren't "talking" to me. I really couldn't tell much difference in the high beams between those and the stockish H4 halogen bulbs. So I got to thinking about other options.

I put my old Beamtech LED bulbs in them, readjusted them and the high beams pointed low and the low beams were "raccoon hunting" in the trees. There really wasn't much difference between the two.

I got to looking at how the halogen H4 bulbs were built compared to the LED. The outer low beam filament on the halogen were covered up on the lower part pretty well which I believe is to force the light to reflect of the upper portion of the lens reflector to make the beam go down in front. The Beamtech LED has a very small has a very small cover down low on the outer chip which changes the way it reflects inside the lens. I got to looking around and found a set of Auxito H4s which are much better covered under the outer LED chips. I tried them and I have very well defined and bright high and low beams that actually point down in front of the Jeep. And so far, no one is flashing their high beams at my low beams and if it wasn't for the trees, I think I could see into the next county with the high beams. I'm now very happy with the whole setup.

Were they the Auxito H4 9003?

I ordered and received two sets of the Koito H4 kits and installed one set a few days ago with the standard 60/55W H4 bulbs and without the furnished conversion harness. Not near the lumens output compared to higher wattage H4 halogen bulbs or H4 LED versions, however I decided avoiding glare to oncoming vehicles the prudent and responsible way to go. I'll augment those with a pair of PIAA LED flood lamps already in play as well as a pair of Rigid 4" round LED amber fog lights I'm planning to buy to replace the old H3 lamps mounted flush in my bumper. My objective is "aimed" (so to speak) at early awareness of forest critters crossing our local streets and highways than burning retinas... o_O

Ok I finally got to try the lights in the dark, had them installed for several months now and this morning was the first nighttime drive I've done.

Took the oldest granddaughter to the daycare her mom works at, so she could ride the bus to school......... 6:15 am.

No one flashed their lights at me, which means I must have done a pretty good job aiming them.

The dims are brighter, the brights are way brighter than the old incandescent for sure.

So which ones are they, the Toyotas or the LEDs that got brought into the thread? I looked back several pages and couldn't find what you installed.

Mine are the Toyota headlights in got from @red02tj and then took forever to install.

Same here but I upgraded the lamps to the 100/60 H-4s. I tried the Auxito LED lamps and although they are very white, which makes them appear to be brighter, I found them to not throw as much light as the H-4s so I returned them. BTW halogens are incandescent, they just use halogen gas making them whiter and brighter.

LEDs in a glass housing... is desirable over plastic.
I would be interested to see the beam of light it puts out at night.
Many LED headlights just dump light in front of the vehicle instead of focusing the beam.

In my experience listed above, it also depends on the design of the LED bulb. The Beamtech LED H-4s that I tried first with both Hella e-code and later with the Toyota lenses would be shining up in the trees on low beam and down low on the road on high beam. After carefully looking at how a H-4 halogen incandescent is designed to work, I installed a set of Auxito H-4 bulbs with the similar design for light direction and they work great.

So are the Summit ones the same ones sold here https://ruggedridge.com/p/7-sealed-...2-84/?cparam=757a071ffa48d1b51b0074914749c398 but for less $$? One thing that caught my eye is they are real glass, not plastic, the Hollys are plastic.

I found that these have worked out very well behind my E spec H4 lenses as far as putting the hot spot in the right location for the lens.

Note these are the dimmest of their line card. For sure brighter than incandescent, Not blue in color but they also have brighter if desired.
