Eli survived his first school musical.
The kid has a hell of a deep voice for a 12 year old. We didn't even know he had a solo. The other side of that coin is he dances like he has snowshoes on.
Owen's hockey season ended today. We didn't go to the last game because it was an 8 am game, 2.5 hours away. Owen's team won, but it sounds like it was a hell of a rough game. The opposing team were getting shellacked and started throwing punches. At the end of the game, one of the kids on the opposing team cold-cocked one of his team mates and laid him out flat. I heard Owen was one of the first ones there to help him up.
This is one hockey season that everyone is happy to see over. Parents hate the coach and the coach hates the parents. The coach struck me as someone who should be working with high school kids. Not 8 year old kids. Also came across as an asshole.
As for more hockey, the rink where Owen trains is also the home ice for the Chicago Steel, a USHL team and the Chicago Blackhawks farm team. One of the season ticket holders is not going to be able to attend a lot of the home games this season, so he donated the tickets to the Cyclones Hockey organization that Owen and his Dad play for. There was a drawing and Owen won 10 tickets to five games. The minor league games are a hoot. I don't know if Owen will take me but I bet he'll ask grandma to go with at least once.
