Soft top snow load?

Been considering leaving the TJ outside this winter. Typical winter lows can hit -10 when its clear. When it snows most we've seen in one storm is 8" or so. How would a Bestop soft top do with 8" of snow sitting on it? Im also thinking the windows might crack if its 25 or less and I hit the road. Legitimate concerns here??

i left my jk with a frameless softop outside all winter in golden BC one year. left it there for 5 months. this is middle of the rocky mountains in canada. no issues. on the west coast the heavy ass rain snow never affected it at all either.

We've had 30" on our 04 soft top , my butt would clinch when sweeping it off , but no issues. The windows didn't crack at -12F. but they continually pissed me off since we drive on dirt roads and you could never see out of them. Got a hardtop and never looked back.

Doubt the weight would be an issue but definitely be careful with the windows.

Ever watch the Discovery Channel's show Whitewater? Alaska. They stored an old CJ or YJ up there in a tent rated for a big snow load...tent collapsed and the Jeep got partially crushed.

Haven't had an issues with my LJ soft top in Maine. Had up to a foot or so on it at a time. The part that drove me crazy is you have to be so careful with the windows when cleaning. You can't scrap them or even brush off the snow because the bristles will scrape them up.

The best would be a hard top. But that comes with its own issues.

Thanks for the real deal scenario's guys. A hard top is out of the question for me, to much hassle pulling and storing one. Been there, done that several times. Long as I dont end up like this dude.

Ordinary new snow weighs about 0.3lb per inch per square foot, so you're talking about maybe 80 pounds distributed over the entire top....you're good as long as you don't park it somewhere above 12,000 feet and let sit over the winter.
