Your TJ can probably be quieter!

I think with the bow it depends how much tension you have. Mine doesn’t slap against it but thats because its pressing the mattress topper against the top. The top doesn’t really have any room to flutter it just gets cushioned by the foam.

I also rented a softtop Bronco this weekend as I’m travelling and I’m dissapointed that it’s noticeably louder than my set up in the TJ on the highway, much worse when windy. I was expecting better for the 20 year age difference.

Mine didn’t and I was told they no longer include them when I bought my trek top last Fall. It’s mostly fine without it but water pools after a hard rain and it flutters sometimes, making a low-frequency booming sound.

I just got my top and it came with a bow, but not the foam that goes on top and no clips on the ends of the bow so it’s too short to span the whole width of the door surrounds. I saw a review on their site (from Oct 2024) that said they now include them due to feedback they’ve received. So if you want one, maybe contact them again. I’m going to call on Monday to see what they say.
