Just got my 97 TJ the previous owner had a CB radio in it. I have no use for one so it was kinda in the way. So I went to pull it out he had its power spliced into the cigarette lighter. But before I knew that I pulled the radio to see if it was connected there and now the radio doesn't work at all. I still get the dimmer glow around the radio so I'm not sure what happened? The ground is making good connection and the fuses look intact (even the one under the hood). I'm am not sure if the radio is bad now or what any thoughts?

So the radio doesn't power on at all or you don't have any sound?

If no power at all I assume you pulled the power supply wire by mistake and I would follow it and attach in a new spot if needed..

Factory radio or after market?

It's the factory radio it has no power and all the wires are still connected to the back of it.

I'm guessing when you pulled the CB out you accidentally shorted a power to a ground.. look again for a blown fuse, they can look ok but test with a test light, etc.

Or put a multi meter on the radio plug positive and see if you have power going to it.

You can test radio by running a temporary new power wire to it and see if that powers up.
