Piss & Moan Table

I remember the Yugo had the starter sitting on the frame the motor had to be tilted to remove.

One of the garages we sold parts to had one to do. What a horror show rusted motor mounts, removing manifold etc.

Supposedly, getting to the rear (firewall side) sparkplugs and changing them out is a 6-8 hour job. I'll tackle that one day when I'm convinced my life isn't yet miserable enough. ;)

That is when she replaces the minivan

Daughter's Mazda MPV (minivan) has a defunct starter. Transverse-mounted Ford V6 stuffed into the engine compartment. The starter has to come out through the top. Took me an hour and a half just to get to the starter! 🤬

*First-World problems, I know. Still irritating, though.

Transverse v-6 engines are the work of satan (former Grand Caravan 3.8 owner).

Yeah, not a transverse mounted engine in a minivan chassis.. nice try though...

Judge Judy rules this... Even lamer than your post suggesting an LS swap in a Mazda MPV

I’d have to figure out what an MPV actually is and I honestly don’t care. That caravan had a transverse engine and it now has a turbo LS with a manual and is rear wheel drive.

Yeah I know it "had" a transverse mounted engine.. I can also tell you, beyond a doubt, it doesn't have a stock chassis under it any more either...

It's always a battle between Walmart and Amazon for the lowest prices, I don't really care which one I buy from provided they have what I need, put it on my doorstep at no charge, & they're not gouging me on the price.

I always make sure to have enough bs (necessities) in my cart at any given time to exceed the minimum 'free delivery' amount no matter where I buy from. I don't buy much, sometimes it takes a month or more to work my way up to the $35 minimum, & I rarely wait until I'm out of shit to re-up, so I'm usually not in a hurry to get anything.

Lately I've noticed that once I get to the 'check out' part of Walmart however, they split my order up into these categories, some are eligible for 'shipping' (free with minimum order of $35), some for 'delivery' (guy pulls up in his Toyota & tosses a bag on your doorstep, for a charge), and some are for 'pick up' only.

Fuck that. I don't pay for anything to be delivered and I sure as fuck don't go online buy things I've got to then drive my lazy ass to the store to retrieve, most particularly Walmart, I refuse to walk into that shit hole. I'll do a Best Buy pick up for a large thing, like a tv, if that means saving a ton of money, but a box of cereal or an oil filter, not in this lifetime.

Walmart's shenanigans in this regard are becoming a deterrence, seems like every other order I try to make there I get knocked out of the box because of this bullshit.

Amazon is better in this regard, they sometimes have those items that aren't included in the free shipping, but still if you get the qualifying items up over $35 then it all comes for free...

Feel free to dig into it, the article says he fabbed custom engine mounts and he put a different rear axle under it. Anywho, seems like we’ve strayed a ways from a simple joke. Good thing I didn’t post the Cummins swapped escape.

I don't know what Amazon you're shopping with, but I get free shipping when I reach $25...

Well ain't that interesting. I haven't be hit with this... yet...

I don't know when it started, but I learned it buying some office supplies recently, did a double take but my order ended up being over $50 so it wasn't an issue.

I just tossed a couple things in my cart to see what it did & sure enough, I put a bag of coffee beans in for $14 & went to the cart where it reminded me I'd need to add $21 more to 'qualify' for free shipping.

Seems they're falling in line with Walmart which has been $35 as long as I can remember.

And while I'm bitching about Amazon, I'll add this - have you noticed how they're constantly trying to harangue you into 'subscribing' to a particular item?

I want a gallon of Tide, but no Amazon, I don't want you to deliver another one just like it every two weeks for fuck sakes...

I thought everyone had prime?

I thought everyone had prime?

not everyone, I've never had it, with the exception of Netflix I have zero subscriptions of any kind.

Looking at my past orders on Amazon over the years I average about one delivery per month, usually around $40+/-, and always some combination of necessities like coffee, soap, motor oil, cell phone chargers, reading glasses, books & many other similar type things. Total minimalist here, I don't go shopping for fun, online or in person, because I don't find it fun, at all, I piss all my money away on things like interesting food & drinks at microbreweries & wineries, and flying my ass to interesting places, all of which is far more gratifying than handing it to Bezos or the Walton family in exchange for stupid useless shit that only clutters the house.

There was a glitch in the matrix though in 2017 for a couple years when I bought a bunch of crap for the TJ, it all seemed important at the time, but now not so much.

I buy most everything from them. Deodorant last week. Lots of my clothes and shoes now come from them. But, someone is always watching prime in the house so we get that benefit also.
