If you've clicked on this, you probably know how the part works already, but I've been diagnosing and have run into a troublesome issue...

My panel door actuator is messed up in a way that prevents me from installing the new part. I ordered part numbers 17910.01 and 17910.02 to be safe. These are the plastic pieces that snap into the heater-A/C housing and then connect to your actual actuator with the vacuum lines. My ac will only go through my floor vents and defrost, but not the face vents. I've pulled the old part out and it was broken. Not only was it broken but someone had also drilled the accuator into housing, thereby destroying the teeth that the put fit plastic part mounts into.

My question after all this is: Can I avoid buying the entire housing and removing the entire dash, or do I just have to suck it up?

I had one that would always break off the locking tab that holds it in. I ended up putting black RTV on the star shaped area and stuck it in place. let it sit for a day and set up, but hand rotate it every once in a while to make sure it doesn't glue together parts you don't want to stick. dont go crazy with the RTV just brush on enough to hold it in place.

Hi! Any luck getting a new panel actuator lever installed last year? I've got the same issue where the plastic lever rod is broken off of the housing and it appears the previous owner either glued the old one in or I just can't seem to back the broken piece out. I cannot see the star/flat mounting surface at all. I tried putting a screw in what I can see and pulling it out but no luck...Appreciate it!

Unfortunately not, I just cut my losses and then kind of forgot about it. My AC is good enough to get me through without blowing on my face even though it’s really unfortunate! I wish you luck!

I've just fixed my plastic piece, but for some reason now suddenly none of the actuators moving any more. I've had unplugged the vacuum hose on one, to have better access and plugged it in back after... but no none of the actuators move when I turn the knob. It's unlikely that something broke the same time, I was doing the work.

I've the strong feeling I'm missing something here? I had the jeep idle for like 5 minutes, but still no vacuum?
