First time posting, was looking for a HVAC section and couldn't find one. Let me know if I'm in wrong section.

To keep it brief I am looking for a replacement part for the defrost actuator. Been online and to auto parts stores. The part that is supposedly a replacement does not have the travel length needs to fully close the defrost door. Anyone have similar issues? Before I modify a brand new part I wanted to see if anyone has a partnumber. It's #2 in image. For reference, I am thinking of cutting and drilling this part [Dorman 604-934 HVAC Blend Door... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016V22UH6?tag=wranglerorg-20], the arm is too long, so vacuum does not fully close door.

Have you solved your problem yet? For what it's worth, I doubt the problem lies with the actuator or actuator arm. It's more likely that the lever that's driven into the hinge of the defrost door is spinning freely or you have other issues with the defrost door inside of the HVAC case.

The photo below is from a different Mopar product showing the damage to the door hinge where the actuator attaches.

Thanks for reply. I actually tore down the entire hvac box, replaced heater core because I was getting very little heat. Noticed over last summer that fog was building up on windshield and figured I would inspect defrost issue when replacing heater core. No issues with damper was seen. Was able to physically close and open door when I had it apart. Tested vacuum lines and test was good. Only other option I can think of is the rubber in actuator is old and stiffness is causing vacuum to not be enough force to fully close damper. If others can't provide another part, I will modify one i posted and update for others reference.
