6 months ago my TOB started screaming so I dropped trans and installed a new clutch kit from O'Reilly's. It included a throwout bearing (clutch release bearing), and a pilot bearing, both of which I installed as well. 2 months after installation I noticed catching and friction in the clutch pedal motion. So yesterday I dropped trans again and replaced the TOB with a National Bearing one. I also greased the input shaft, inside of TOB, and the clutch fork pivot ball.

How did the "snout" that the TO bearing rides on look? It's part number 5013306AA for the NV3550. If that's worn excessively, it can cause that grabiness.

Good point. I was worried about that. It did have a small groove worn in it. I hope it's not going to cause TOB failure again. If it does, I know what part to replace. The trans drop is getting easier and faster with each time I have to do it lol.

I have definitely heard aftermarket TOBs can be junk.. I opted to use an OEM one with 80k miles over an aftermarket one in my Toyota

Agreed. The frustrating thing is it is difficult to find an OEM (Luk) TOB sold by itself. From my searching it seems they only come with full clutch kits.
