Optimal offset and wheel spacing

Like most, I run a 15x8, 3.75 “ backspace wheel but they are beadlocks so more like a 9” wheel with 12.50’s.

Seems to work great but I have Rubi flairs where they are 1” wider than we and sport flares.

They tuck perfect. They stick out about a 1.5” so if that’s an issue for you....

What kind of rails/sliders do you have and how do you like them?

If buying new I would have gone with 15x8 but when you get chance to trade up to 35s that are better tire, more tread, and you like rims better don’t let 15x10 stop you. No issues with handling, turning, and they stuff fine with current setup.

You’re going to stick way out there on a 10 inch wide wheel.

My first pic is a 31x10.50-15 on a 15x8 wheel with 3.75 backspacing and the regular width TJ fender flare.

The second pic is with the exact same tire/wheel with the wider (4.5 inch, I think) Rubicon flares.

Thanks for posting these pics. I'm about to upgrade to the same setup (31x10.5R15's on a 3.75BS wheel), but I'm a bit nervous about handling/steering with the extra width. Questions:
1) Did you find the factory flairs to be just too little coverage with the 3.75BS and 10.5" combination?
2) Did you notice any steering/handling issues with the new wheels/tires sticking out that far?

Yes, I knew I wanted as much tire coverage as possible with out going to the 6 to 7 inch wide flares, which I feel would Have been too big in my situation.

I didn’t notice any handling difference.

Is this the standard flare or Sahara flare? I just ordered a 3.4” backspacing -27mm offset 15x8 wheel and I’m excited to see what it’s going to look like on my Sahara :D should be here Monday or so.

You understand this thread is 5 years old? And the person you're asking to reply to your post hasn't been on this forum since May 2, 2022.... So 3.5 years since he's been active on the forum....
And NO looking at his posts it wasn't a Sahara just a standard LJ.

I joined this thing two days ago, it’s all new to me. I’ll take it into consideration before posting next time.

Thanks for answering my question.

It just helps to see when the last post to a thread was and then see when the person you're replying to was here last. The poster you were asking questions of sold his Jeep due to heath issues.
