AM or FM or ? , when does it do it?
FM, And always. Always whines, louder with more rpm. This isn't in the Jeep so maybe it's different? Same noise jeep makes when my phone is plugged into aux and also charging from the socket though. Idk

I had whining on AM on my K-20 , but only on weak stations.
Maybe I'll try another station. Oh well
The Quadratec subwoofer that's been mentioned a couple of times is on sale right now - $66.49.
My Bluetooth plug came early and I now have music again thru my radio!! Thanks @John Cooper
So, since the Quadratec sub-woofer was on sale, and it looked like mine was probably blown, I ordered it. It came in earlier today, so I went out and removed my center console. . . and it looks fine. A little dirt has accumulated and in need of some cleaning though.
Now, since I've got the new one should I still replace the old one? It doesn't look like an upgrade so much, I mean, it looks pretty much what I would expect for a 'factory replacement' speaker. I guess it would have the benefit of the new pliant foam surround, and although it wasn't really difficult, I don't want to have to take the console apart again any time soon.
Any opinions?

What do you mean it looked like it was blown. Did it sound like it was blown?
Sorry, bad verbiage, from the loud buzzing I get when I turn it up too loud, it appeared it may have been blown.
