"A federal judge has thrown out major felony charges against two former Louisville officers accused of falsifying a warrant that led police to Breonna Taylor's door before they fatally shot her.

U.S. District Judge Charles Simpson's ruling declared that the actions of Taylor's boyfriend, who fired a shot at police the night of the raid, were the legal cause of her death, not a bad warrant..... Simpson wrote in the Tuesday ruling that "there is no direct link between the warrantless entry and Taylor's death.""

Seems like political bullshit to me. I wonder if the activist will protest this, or if they’re too busy with election season stuff.

The country needs some riots about now.

No knock raids are complete and utter bullshit. Any cop serving one, gets what he gets.

Very sad news today in the world of hockey with the passing of Johnny Hockey (Johnny Gaudreau) along with his brother Matthew. As a die hard Avalanche fan, he used to piss me off as a member of the Calgary Flames. Only now am I actually hearing about what a good man he was. Very sad for his family. It must be especially hard for his sister who was to be married today, which was the reason Johnny and Matthew were together in that part of the country with the rest of their family as they gathered for the wedding. What was supposed to be the happiest day of his sister's life has got to be the most traumatic now.

Thoughts and prayers to their family and friends.

RIP Johnny Hockey and Matthew

Blackshirt Feeders, led by a trio of Canadian veterinarians who are veteran feedlot consultants, plans to begin shipping in cattle within a month to its sprawling complex of pens north of Haigler, a village in the far southwest corner of Nebraska.

The first shipments will slowly ramp up to 50,000 head, and over the next two years, the feedlot is projected to expand to hold up to 150,000 cattle, the largest such complex in Nebraska and among the largest in the nation.

It’s been billed as a “beyond a state-of-the-art” feedlot with a rolled, compacted concrete base that will reduce odors and flies and be easier to clean, improve the health and weight-gain of the cattle, and eventually allow the tons of manure to be used by biodigesters to produce methane.

“It will have as much innovation as any feedlot in the state, much less the nation,” said Dean Settje, whose Lancaster County-based company is managing construction of the facility.

In this arid corner of the state, the $200 million project was required to retire 13 center-pivot irrigation systems to offset the water use projected for the feedlot, though Behlke said that probably only nine will have to be shut down when the site is fully operational.

More than 100 construction workers are putting the final touches on the first phase of the project. The feedlot is projected to employ more than 120 workers with a projected annual payroll of $25 million to care for the livestock, mill the feed and run the digesters.

Good to hear that was short lived. Brother lives in Talent, Just about a block over when that fire rolled through those neighborhoods.

We're just a little south of where that one started. That was a scary day.

Wife's legs are covered in bruises from rushing around packing. 19 y/o son was helpful with getting loaded up. The 14 y/o girls were too busy freaking out to do much lol.

Was a good practice run to show how unprepared we are. We're on a well so no power means no water. I was already starting to look at installing solar. Gonna get serious about it now.

We don't get many fires here like out west, but my parents learned that when an ice storm knocked out their power for a week.

I'm on a well also, I'm not spending the $ for solar, I just bought a 13kW dual-fuel generator (gasoline and propane) and have a dedicated breaker for the generator circuit, with an interlock so I can't have the generator feed and the main closed at the same time. Of course, our power hasn't been out for more than a few seconds since I bought it, so I'm glad I haven't fueled it up.

I'm glad yall got a practice run and not the real deal. In that situation, I think solar would likely be unreliable, you know, with massive smoke clouds blocking the sun and whatnot. A small gas generator would roll on.

same here, seems going solar for that issue is killing a fly with a bazooka. I've had a little portable generator for 25 years I yank out of the garage if the power is off for more than an hour +/-, it plugs into a receptacle on the side of the house & is wired into the panel, the little guy is enough to run the important stuff: refrigerator, well pump, furnace, some random lights all over the house, tv's, and, most critically, the coffee machine.

I've run it for as little as an hour & up to 12+ hours over the years, thing cranks up with one pull even after sitting for 6 months or more.

We were in Skiatook (Tulsa area) for the 2007 ice storm. No power for 10 days, no water for 7. I still have the 6.5kw generator I got then but it's 110 and the well is 220. I haven't fired it up since.
