I love the SBC 350 and the only thing I would do differently is a TKO 5 spd. manual . If I had to go auto trans it would be a T-400 and a Gear Vendor overdrive.

That's my main, and sometimes only, complaint about my old cars, no overdrive, so a compromise is always made. With a 1:1 final, you're either geared for the highway, or geared for the stop lights, no real in-between. An overdrive gear allows that nice split where you can easily run 3.73s or 4.10s with a 26-27" tire on the highway.

Besides, I's rather just change gears with a lever inside the car than have to crawl under it every time I leave or enter town.
