Looking for a new radio

Friend of mine is testing/running a new radio from Clarion (M508) that is modeled after the 90’s radios that were supplied in OEM vehicles. It has a few new touches as far the face goes, yet still resembles the 90’s when our Jeeps were built. He is running it in his old Porshe. Like most aftermarket radios it doesnt scream, “cheap.” Arguably it compliments the 90’s simple dashes. It also is marine spec so water, dust, and dirt tough.

It will be released Jan/Feb 2018 to us normies. I think it is beautiful. Its aftermarket yet still has the OEM touch. Ive already gave him the money for 3 of them for my Jeeps. Has blue tooth and front AUX.

I love that. Doesn't have the annoying weird font, blue lighting, bad buttons that new models have.

I have a sirius unit ran in the glovebox with the aux cord. I keep the station on my girlfriends station nearly 24/7. Really digging the setup :D.

This is awesome and has now been added to the shortlist of mods for my LJ. I have an aftermarket unit that was in the jeep when I bought it. I hate it. It’s far too bright and looks like something out of a Fast & Furious car.

Not to mention, the buttons are so small that anything tougher than a paved road makes changing stations or adjusting volume an excercise in futility.

I would imagine I could reconnect the factory Sub as well.

Yep! Because it is a factory radio :)

Iactually found that on line too but it just kept giving me paired unsuccessful, but I was using a 7. I will try it again when i get my 8: but most likely will upgrade anyway. Really liking some of theses others suggested.
I don't have that problem with my IPhone 4s hehe....I have plenty of other problems with my IPhone 4 but that's not one of them lol

The cheap and cheesy looking head units are hopefully a thing of the past soon. I cant stand them.

Glad you like it. Seems like a lot of members here do. I cant wait to purchase one. doesnt look too cheap and corny. My goal was to find something that was aftermarket but blended well with the interior.

Clarion released a lot more details and specs on the M508. Just a heads up for all you folks intrested. Love the black and white backlit screen as it is an added benefit when installing in a Jeep with a removable top.

NOTE: this unit is marketed towards the boating community so its tough in the sun and water.

Still looks like it is not available yet. Curious if the USB will play music from a jump drive, or will only work from a phone? couldn't tell for sure from the specs.
