I want the stock 04 Radio back in. This is an original antenna cable that is supposed to go in the back of the original radio. There is no way to push it in to hold it in place at this point. I've googled, searched the forum etc, can't figure out why this original antenna cable just doesn't plug in to the back of the original radio.

Is there some sort of metal sleeve missing that goes over the radio smaller circle in here and then helps affix the antenna connection to the radio? Yeah, yeah, I'm sure many are thinking, "Why does he want a that old radio back in the Jeep?" I just want to return to a simple volume knob, a seek button and a few presets. And, while we are at it, "YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN!" lol.

Thanks for any input.

That does not look like the correct port for the antenna cable plug that you have.

edit:

I think you might be missing a piece of the cable.

I searched and found this site that shows an installation package with a short antenna cable that appears to have the radio connector in your picture on one end and the antenna cable plug in your picture on the other end.

This post shows the removed antenna and cables with what appears to be an adapter cable section.

Thanks for responding. So, in buying the cable I posted the pic of, I went with a Jeep dismantler who sells a lot on Ebay, sent a pic of the back of my radio to confirm they were sending me the right cable. I got back a confirmation they were.

The cable arrived today, as pic shows, no way it will work. I just went back to the ebay purchase. The used antenna cable pictured that I bought on Ebay is NOT the one they sent. This after it got lost in the mail for a good number of days before arriving. Crap happens. Anyway, I just went to an online new Mopar parts vender and found what is the right cable to go into the back of that original 04 radio. And, it looks just like the one I was supposed to be sent from that Ebay Jeep dismantler.

In case anyone in the future runs into this same issue trying to put the original radio back in, the part number needed I believe is 56038661ab. I just ordered it. After it arrives, I'll post if all good or not.
