Leaky radiator

I think you have your answer, Eddie. Clearly you need to V8 swap it to be able to replace the radiator...

🙂
We support this 100%! The only true fix.... ;)

Unless you have something very special, leaky plastic tank radiators go here...

If the shop knows what their doing, there is no reason they can't replace a top or bottom plastic tank. The shop I deal with has been in business for years (over 20 I know). They warranty their work also.

I have a good local shop. They won't touch plastic tanked radiators. I was told they while they can separate the tanks and cores, if there's a leak, usually the radiator is old, and old plastic likes to crack. Besides that, with the cost to recore, I'd imagine you could buy 2 new parts store replacements. The last radiator I had recored, copper/brass 10 years ago, cost $600, and a little larger one right before that cost $800. Labor around here has doubled since then, plus whatever material has done.

Personally, with how I've seen some plastic tanks let go, I wouldn't take a chance repairing one unless I just had to.

Replace. I also have a small leak and will be replacing mine soon. I have tried in past to repair cracked radiators. And it never lasted nor was worth the effort to perform the repair, especially when replacing the radiator is fairly easy to do.

Hey just wanted to let y’all know I went with the $200.00 radiator from O’Reillys, of course it has a lifetime warranty.
Everything went in perfectly and did not take long at all. Thanks for your advice and opinions. I do appreciate it.
