Fender = 15.6lbs
Accessory battery tray = 5.6lbs
Flare = 1.0lb
Hardware = 1.0lb
Total = 23.2
GenRight (0* Boulders)
Fender + Inner = 8.8lb
Hardware = 1.0lb
Total = 9.8lb
These weights are per side. I was not able to weigh the GR battery bracket + tray.

That means they are as confused as you are or as limited in experience. Some steel fenders are heavy. Crawltec fenders are not heavy at all. I doubt they weigh much more if any than the stock ones do.
I remember those being light--probably the one steel exception to the weight statement

Genright fenders have been a good product for me.
Aluminum is lighter and in some applications it’s more significant than others. For me, in many anpplications Aluminum is better to avoid rust.

Just a reminder that not all hi-lines are cut the same, and may impact rocker selection.
I was looking at doing Nemesis Rockers (Billy+Titan) and corners after seeing them on my buddy's LJ, and I loved the idea of their custom cut corners.
I'm running MB aluminum hi-lines and we determined that the Nem rockers would be a couple inches into the rear of my fender openings.

One should assume that any and all non-factory fenders will require the slider to trimmed to fit.
The armor, sure. The "Billy Rocker" slider section is the issue on these. Aluminium, so really not a simple chop and cap (at least with my capabilities)

In TN, we call those “Billy-Bob” Rockers.

Since the OP said part of this was driven by PoPo wanting more tire coverage one question should be what flares if any do you have now? And what width flare are you looking for?

I am not confused at all. I was comparing Genright Alum to their steel ones. According to Genright there front Alum fenders w/4 flare weigh 9.3 lbs and there steel ones weigh 21.75 lbs that's a HEAVY difference. And according to Google

20-22 lbs compared to 9.3 lbs is a big difference to me. I didn't go out and search every brand of replacement fenders on the market only Genright's steel to Alum.

You can cherry pick all you like to support your flawed position, doesn't change the fact that the steel Crawltec fenders don't weigh very much.

Again the part that matter IMO is that even if the Crawltech fenders weigh 8lbs or 20 lbs it doesn't matter if you need fenders that have flares.
Hopefully Fluxor can design a fender with a detectable flare that can work. Until then...
