I’m happy to sign up for membership, finally. Been hiding in the background for over a year soaking up knowledge. I’m so great full for everyone on here sharing their knowledge and experiences. So much inspiration from some really functional rigs. I can’t wait to meet up with some of you on the trail.

Thank you kindly! I was just in Star a couple months ago before visiting Yellowstone. Beautiful country you got up there.

It gets better as you head north
We're still in awe of the scenery up here even after 3 years (formally Stockton and Monterey)

What a change of pace from Stockton! While I was up there I heard a lot about Californians screwing up your guy’s property value now too. We’re looking to get out, but the best places have been California’d it seems like.

Welcome! Let's see the TJ

I’m hesitant to post pictures cause I’m giving it a gender change from its previous life as a mall crawler to something slightly more useful. I’d be lying if I said I was a little embarrassed of some of the add ons. It’s clean and unmolested by rust at 120k and I know the original owner. I’m looking forward to posting my work as I go. Following all the great advice on here, I have so many parts stored in my Jeep room, I’m literally concerned about them falling through the floor down into the garage. I guess carrying them downstairs is 25% of the work though 😂

We won't judge you for the previous owner's mistakes! If anything we'll admire that you're saving a TJ from that fate. Plus it'll be a way for us to see how far you bring it along.

Ok, but don’t laugh. Us Californians are extra sensitive. The TJ may cry until it gets toughened up 😂 Everything black is coming off to be replaced with aluminum tid bits

To be fair, we've all seen way worse! It will be a fun project because you get to make it your own all while seeing a drastic difference. I've also always liked that color. I can't remember who it is but someone has a tastefully built one on here.

As long as No one sticks me in the unfortunate TJ of the day thread! 😂
I do love this color the most. I just wish they thought out the Sahara interior better. This thing has had seat covers on its green ass seats since the day after it rolled out the showroom. A lot of you guys (and some gals) have really nice rigs I’d like to line up with one day.

That's funny, I've always loved the Sahara green and tan interiors but I can agree that it wouldn't go the best with that color. But on white Saharas with tan tops it's minty!!

If you have black I’ll trade you lol. First mod I did was black twill top, bedrug carpet, then blacked all the interior plastic with the SEM products. Except the door panels cause I seldomly run full doors anyway. Honestly, anything related to brown is my least favorite color.
What’s are the trails like in WA? You guys have some fun stuff up there? We’re in Seattle at least once a year for my girl’s daughter’s volleyball tournaments.

The Sahara colors wouldn't look good with my blue either.

I haven't got out to many of our trails other than basic logging roads and some powerline roads. I'm not close to any of our bigger trail systems such as Naches or Walker so those will come down the road.

I don't envy you having to go to Seattle! I'm a small town backwoods guy and don't enjoy the city. Haven't even been to a baseball game in years. Been to Seattle a few times for work over the past couple years and hated every second lol

Very true.

I feel you. Even though there’s great trails here, everything is at least 2 hours away. If you’re ever in my neck of the concrete, hit me up for a wheeling trip. I’ll show some cool stuff. Lots of ghost towns in the Sierra.

I was born and raised here, but spent enough time in the south that I know I don’t belong here. Especially because of the rude, uptight people. We can’t wait till we can get out of this state.

Welcome, I’ll be keeping my eye open for you, I am here in Orangevale so same neighborhood. Depending on were you are exactly come check out the Hi-Landers 4WD club.

Right on! I was really hoping to find some locals/club to roll with. I don’t know anyone that off-roads, so I’ve been flying solo with just my girlfriend. I’m fully stocked on recovery gear and I haven’t really tested the limits, so it would be nice to finally go with a group. I’m in Natomas. One of my best friends lives in your town. You may have seen a front yard on Hazel filled with bounce houses from time to time LOL

Yes, been a whole since I’ve seen the bounce houses, we were wondering if they still did that. The Hi-Landers meet at the Orangevale Community Center on Hazel. You are welcome to come to a meeting, we meet the 2nd Monday of each month, so the next meeting is Monday coming up. Also you can join Cal4WD and they keep a list of clubs in the area, that is how I found this one. We do runs of all sort. My family has a total of 5 Jeeps, 4 JK’s and one LJ. Mine are a JKU Rubicon and the LJR.
