Electrical issues

Pulling the fuse kills the radio with key off. I have not tried changing flasher relay. Everything worked before I swapped mfsw connector. I just went through the connector pin by pin with the old connector and a wiring diagram and everything is correct. 🤷🏻

I'm just wondering if the combo relay could have anything to do with the parasitic draw, and now the failure of the flashers and signals. The combo relay does have power all the time even with the key off, for the 4 ways It is supplied by 2 fuses,

Also plugged the shift lock back in just in case. Made no difference, got hot as balls again so I unplugged it.

So tested out this relay. Put 12v to 49 and grounded 31. 49a is supposed to be the output to the turn signals/flasher. I got low or no voltage to it. Does that sound like a bad relay?

Where was that relay and where did you get the identification information for the terminals?

Relay was on the back of the mfsw. Got the layout off of chat gtp.

I'm lost on that one. It's not making sense if that's a normal 5 pin relay. Is there a schematic on the relay housing?

I don't know enough about flasher relays to be of any help at this poi
Yeah me either. I ordered a new relay. Should be here tomorrow. I got one from advanced but I'm pretty certain it wasn't the correct one. Popped the fuse as soon as I hooked battery up. We'll see tomorrow. It's just super frustrating that everything worked prior to the new mfsw connector.

Got home from work this morning and got right at it. Tested a bunch of stuff and tried a new relay. New relay did not work. Strike one. Found the mfsw fuse blown under hood. Replaced it, put old relay in and voila, blinkers and hazards. Tried old mfsw just to see and it did not work. But, blinkers, wipers, radio, all work with key off🤷🏻. And after all this, still have a big amperage draw. Pretty much defeated at this point. Probably just put a battery switch in it and run it.

for me, radio working with the key off is a red flag. It's completely possible Bubba butchered the wiring on an aftermarket install, but with all the other stuff going on it feels like there are some shorted wires going on.

Did you remove the radio fuse and run that same test?

Everything looks stock under the dash. No aftermarket anything, no clipped wires, etc. Radio fuse doesn't change the draw. It's mind boggling
