Dyno Testing Bolt-ons On The 4.0

I have been working on this slowly getting things in place. I have sourced a cam and springs as well as a few other bolt ons. Also to make some of the comparisons as fair as possible some of the parts have to be installed and fitted then removed to be staged for the dyno. The Windstar filter was tonight's project. It turned out better than I expected. The housing really does fit well under the hood.

I like your utilization of a tube & elbow off the throttle body. I used part of the stock intake, yours looks cleaner. Also, is that a coolant filter I see?

Is that a pre-made kit, or did you piece everything together?

Thanks, and yes that is a coolant filter.

I still haven't forgotten about this. This fall has been hot here and I wanted to run the testing between 50 and 70 degrees. I'm not sure we have gotten down there yet. In the meantime I made an overdrive water pump/fan pulley for our much neglected 97-99 guys. I'm still testing it out and waiting for a few different sizes of belts to show up.

Whats the stock lifter ratio?

It's supposed to be 1.6:1. However, I measured a stock rocker arm and it seemed closer to 1.64:1. Although measuring a stamped steel rocker arm isn't an exact science. The position of the pivot and the tip contact are definitely open to interpretation.

iirc, it's better to measure actual valve lift and cam lobe lift to get the ratio instead of trying to measure the rocker itself.

Any time estimate when you'll start testing?

Also, just for fun, you should run the flatty.

I had to get the dyno electronics rebuilt completely. They are back now, but I sold some old cnc machines and am getting some new stuff. Once the moving is done I'll start the videos.
