I am working on my son's Jeep (04 TJ X with disc in the front and drums in the back).

I am looking for a lockout tool for the proportioning valve so I can bleed the brakes. I have reached out to Black Magic Brakes asking about shipping time for their tool. Obviously it is Sunday so I don't expect to hear back before tomorrow. But, I was trying to get the job all wrapped up sooner than I think one would arrive from them.

I have seen several on Amazon but none listed specifically for Jeep. Does anyone know what size would fit the OEM proportioning valve or if one made for chevy or ford would work at all? Most on Amazon could get it to me by tomorrow or Tuesday.

Thanks so much!

It will go out tomorrow first thing if you order. USPS gets it there in a couple of days if they aren't dicking off. The thread size is 3/8-24 going into the block. You can make one with a piece of 3/16" brake hard line, a small drill bit, and a tube nut for inverted flare 3/16" which has the 3/8"-24 threads. Cut a short piece of tube, glue, weld, or crimp it into the tube nut, slide a small drill bit that is the same size as the plunger on the switch through the tube, glue, weld, or crimp it in place at about the same stick out as the switch. It doesn't take much to stop the shuttle valve from shifting. We only ever screw them in finger tight.

The only reason I have them made is I bought several that didn't work. Someone besides me should make them, I was not able to figure it out. I know that typically the ones I ordered for Chevy were way too large.

How about a 3/8-24 bolt with a 7/64 drilled hole and an 8d nail filed smooth on the end?
