Bosch Fuel Pump Assembly on RockAuto

The replacement bosch 67655 pumps for your early TJ is available again now, but you may have to do a little searching to find one in stock.

The pump is spring loaded and needs to be pushed down while installing. Put the o-ring on the tank, slip in the pump assembly, aligned properly with the markings on the tank, and being sure to not damage the level sensor or float, then install the collar. That's the tricky part, getting the collar started without cross threading it. Every time I've reinstalled the pump it took at least a half hour of farking around with that stupid collar til I got it on just right. A second set of hands can help keep the pump compressed onto the o-ring so you are not fighting the spring pressure while getting the collar threads started.

My brother and I dropped the tank on his Jeep last weekend, cleaned the tank and flushed, replaced the fuel pump and sock filter; I agree with GnB the second set of hands makes all the difference.

Well I ended up getting a Delphi because I knew the fuel level sensor was going out and I got tired of searching for the bosch entire assembly. Plus this puppy was about to go!

I'm happy to report however that I got the new pump in, tank back in place, and put some fuel in her and I now through all of fourth gear even on hills or under load! So nice to not have to slow down traffic on hills now!

CARid had them in stock last week. I ordered one and got it in 4 days

Something is fucked up on Amazon where they are saying most fuel pumps can't be shipped to California. The Bosch fuel pumps are what the factory installed. But that's another reason that helps with my move out of here!
you didn't get the memo from Nancy P. ? they are no longer allowed to sell parts to repair combustion engines in CA. only parts for electric vehicles will be sold now ! :)
