Basket's Build

Yeah good value really. Though I don't have a back window which sucks sometimes.

Those trees won't know what hit em this year

Heh

You need a back window? I might happen to know someone who has one... Can't say how great it is but it's a window....

From a rampage top? Mine left side window and rear window both tore first year. When I wrote them about a warranty replacement they only sent me the side window. Dumb

I'm trying to decide if I want to run my top or just run a Safari top.

My first year I came down with my soft top on and then took the windows out and the soft uppers off for running the trail.
2nd year I ran a Safari top and we had one day where I was wishing I'd had my soft top...

I have a cover so I can do either and I don't want to ruin my NEW soft top. It's always a chance either way. Could have shitty weather and want the top or we could have great weather and it not matter. If I ruin my new top it isn't the end of the world but I'd rather spend money on other things.

I bought all the bits to get a soft top. Main reason was to be able to take the top off earlier and keep it on longer. I could never settle on whether I wanted the soft top for Moab or not. I decided to trailer it with the hard top and use the spidershade for trails. I’ve done this many times before. YMMV.

If I go down with the soft top on then it's what I'll run. I don't have anywhere to store the soft top if I take it off in Moab. It's 4 pins for me to take the top completely off. That isn't the issue.
If not stored properly soft windows get scratched easily too. Easier to leave it in my garage...

I've towed it with the cover on it or with the soft top on it.. That again isn't an issue. I've just got to decide which way I want to go.

Not having been there in 15+ years make a difference too since the weather has changed since then...

I'm still contemplating whether or not to sell my hard top and buy a new Twill Trektop. That would mean I also have another complete factory soft top that I could part with.

Can you do half door uppers with the Safari top. That's all you really need to keep yourself dry, if not the entire jeep

Why I decided no soft top for Moab

I usually leave the windows in my cabin and run safari style. Trektop gives me options, just have to make the right call each day.

We ran chicken corners one year in the rain with no windows or half uppers and I’m still cleaning that out of the jeep. Once soaked we may have enjoyed the puddles too much. Do not recommend.

New trail doors don’t accept uppers hopefully the weather is decent enough I can run them all week.

This was the moment I tore through the factory soft top and into the roll bar padding. I also bent the soft top frame.

This year, the new top will be folded down on the trails.

Yes. And if I do the mod to the surrounds like Jeff did then it doesn't drip down the side. I'll see how shit goes today...

The trail cover I have keeps it dry at night.

I've done it both ways before. Having the option is a nicety now & then...

I got both sides of my Trektop scratched up there once.

Got the roll bar padding too but used the following to make it nearly unnoticeable.
