Basket's Build

I've only looked at mine once and read one thread on how to install it & set it but it was when I'd started the build so 2-3 years ago... I'll be watching to see how you do with it. And yes I agree it's nice to have something work out OK for once.
Super easy, there are instructions online and you just enter GPS speed and Speedo speed and it tells you the correction factor to put in.
Nice thing about the Camelback is you can squeeze the bladder and spray some water out the mouth piece... Can't share the water with the dog if it's Gatorade can you?

True true. Why not, it's got electrolytes, isn't that what dogs crave?? Yeah I was thinking more for Moab, I'll have to mix it in my own water bottle per pour when I have to bring him along.

Put 140mi on the Joop yesterday and 210 today and that's a wrap on the gear breakin. Things feel good no gross noises, tomorrow I'll change the juices out in the diff and then it's ready for action!!

No pics of that, but here's a puppy at the Royal gorge

COOL & congratulations on doing your first gear swap.... Learned a new skill & now have some useable gearing...

Woohoo! I can tell I need to get 35s ASAP because now I'm overgeared instead of undergeared 🤣 but damn is it SLOW in 4lo

Funny you say that... Mine I'd swapped to 4.88 years ago & had 33's as that was the deepest at the time. I could now use 5th again...
That lasted less than a year & I was getting 35's... Couldn't use 5th anymore again...

Be fun to see what you think in Moab & how that better crawl ratio affects the way it handles. And to see if you can notice the TruTrac too.

Hopefully i can still use it with 35s when I get there, it's definitely a weird feeling still to have 5th pull me up a hill. Or even a flat.

Yep will be interesting! April phoolz run will also be a good test since I've done that trail multiple times now. So far the trutrac feels super nice going through my neighborhood (dirt roads), definitely more traction especially over the washboards, but yeah I'm curious if it'll be noticeable on actual wheeling too

Smokey burnout video or we're revoking your man card!

One thing I'll give the geared limited slip in my rubi rear axle(like your trutrac)- i went all over some steep muddy logging roads yesterday looking for late season golden chanterelles in 2wd and only needed 4wd in the steepest muddiest sections.

They also do great on steep slippery driveways.

I actually go into 4lo to maneuver in my driveway (which is steep and slippery) so that I don't tear it up haha.

I know there are situations in Moab where I'm going up a steep incline (lots of weight on rear axle), slick rock (lots of traction) and my rear single tire still spins out anyways. Curious to see it how it behaves in that situation

Been working on installing new taillights this week. I got the BMB to replace my incredibly dim stockers. The first part of the adventure was figuring out my '97 had YJ connectors, not the TJ ones, so I had to wait for shipping again after getting ready to install the new ones.

Little bummer but luckily Blaine sells the harness side connectors too so that wasn't too big of a deal.

I didn't take all that many pictures of the setup, it is just a bit of sitting in a chair and working through preparing butt connectors and heat shrink. The instructions are really nice, and even someone like me didn't feel confused going through it. I'd suggest reading through all of it and understanding what all pieces do before starting, because I didn't and almost messed up with the license plate light. But that's my fault lol.

Luckily the 97 doesn't need a new relay, you can just cut a trace. That was the hardest part of the whole deal, giving the dash the ol' reach around to get it out. You can also see I cracked the housing a bit taking it apart, I melted it back together with my solder iron. Good as new!

And boom there we go! They look sooo much better than my stockers in their dumb little jail cells. And SO much brighter. Feeling much more confident I'm not going to get hit slowing down/taking a turn now than I used to lol. And they flash at a normal rate with the trace cut in the relay. Very happy with them.

Whoever suggested using a magic eraser to take the rust-water stains off, thanks, it worked perfectly. And you can only barely tell where I used plain white spray paint to repaint a few rust spots (was hoping the lights would cover it all completely but oh well)!!!

Also... I read you only get stickers if you ask...

Absolutely cracked me up. I was hoping for a wizard sticker but I got Hello Kitty doing her laundry 🤣 guess I'll have to wait til I buy brake stuff to get the wizard sticker.

One must be very specific when requesting stickers from the Wizard! :ROFLMAO:

Wired in a new 12v socket for the cooler

Also wired in the seat heater for when I get that far so I don't have to pull the console again

And with everything in

Seat is back in too. Going out on a trail tomorrow and then I'll pull it again over the week to install the new summit seat foam and seat heater.

After that I just need to get new half door hinges and put on the soft top and it should be ready for Moab

It is the bushing behind the screw and a new upper roller. The old ones get worn and sloppy which makes the seat rock/wobble. Eventually the roller part will get brittle and break apart.

I'll have to look, I'm not sure I remember my chair rocking
