ARB wiring help

Run them off an ARB locker compressor for years and see if you still agree.

What's the difference between them? They both supply air.... If you've already installed the York then why go to the added expense of the ARB compressor?

Simplicity. I’ve ran my lockers on two other air systems and the ARB locker compressor is easy and simple.

What makes it complicated? Once you set it up, its done. They still use switches to turn on the compressors and lockers so i dont see the big deal

Solenoids screw straight into it. No regulators needed. It just works and barely runs, unless you have a leak. I want the fewest connections possible in my air system.

understandable, mine screws into my air tank, but i get it. No leaks so far. We'll see how long mine holds up 🤞🫡

I have one more connection than you do by having a distribution block and as I said I'd ran out of room under the hood to put the ARB compressor. IMO either way works and I never had anymore leaks in my ARB air system than I did on rigs I ran the ARB compressor. And what regulator? What PSI does the ARB shut off at?

There’s a pressure switch in the ARB, not sure the pressure but so far it hasn’t blown out my bonded seals like my Viair system did. Regulator for that was set around 100 psi but I know the air tank I was running was seeing 200 psi, I’m thinking the regulator for the lockers didn’t really regulate as well as it said.

It's been talked about 3-4 years ago that ARB used to say you needed to regulate your air to 100-110 PSI but then that changed and you can run higher PSI into it now. I have mined set at 120 PSI now. If I remember correctly the switch on the ARB compressor was a 120 PSI shutoff pressure but it's been a while since I messed with one.

Since I no experience, is there history of the e-locker not engaging when all wiring is in tact?

They both work fine when everything is working like it should. With my old build I only ever once had a line fail and that was due to it touching the exhaust.
I've only heard of people having issues with their e-locker when a wire got cut.

So to answer the question the single ARB compressor has a 100 PSI shutoff switch while the dual ARB compressor has a 150 PSI shutoff switch.

HOW TO GET MORE PRESSURE OUT OF AN ARB SINGLE MOTOR COMPRESSOR (CKSA & CKMA)?

ARB CKSA and CKMA Air Compressors include a pressure switch that regulates pressure up to 100 PSI; which is all you need in most cases. However, if you’re looking for slightly faster Air Locker engagement, need to inflate past 100 PSI, or if your air tools require more pressure, there is an alternative. The ARB Twin Compressor (CKMTA) pressure switch can be used on the smaller compressors. Simply order ARB part #180901, install it on your ARB CKSA or CKMA Air Compressor, and you will be rewarded with an output of 150 PSI.
