Installed the Mopar add-on hardtop wiring harness this weekend (2000 Sahara, came with factory fog lights, soft top and half doors). Had help with the soldering and I'm confident everything was done correctly (helping neighbor is an actual mechanic). Everything that *did* work (foglights, headlights) still works (whew!) but...the rear defroster isn't kicking on, and when I hit the wiper button it spits out fluid but the wiper blade doesn't move (even if I hit the switch twice). I did check the motor before installing, and it was operational. The glass has NO breaks in the lines. The switches have illumination, but the red light in the defroster switch does *not* kick on.
I checked all the fuses in the glove box and the PDC (look good) and changed the relay, but that's the extent of my troubleshooting ability (I spent the morning learning how to use a multimeter and trying to read wiring diagrams, if that gives you a better idea of my skill level). I've been asking chat GPT for guidance but it keeps mixing up years and/or giving me 12 steps at a time so it's overwhelming. Was hoping someone with a lot of experience could break down the diagnostic steps for me. (I'm not lazy, I'll be on YouTube all night trying to figure it out, but I'm running out of time due to hand surgery next week I won't be able to work on it for at least 8 weeks and as hoping to get her put back together by this weekend. Any insights you have would be greatly appreciated!
