Hi all,
I'm looking to replace my head on my 2002 Jeep TJ 4.0 with the performance clearwater head as well as a Comp Cam Xtreme 205/213, .450/.450. I was wondering if anyone has done with recently and also if you have to change any of the other stock components like the push rods? I'd like to also get some stock ratio 1.6 roller rockers. Thanks!

Sorry for digging up an old thread but as I am working a misfire I pulled my lifters and have a lifter on number 5 exhaust that is ground down. Looked down at the cam lobe and it is shot. Long story short did anyone buy and try this cam with a stock valve train? I DO NOT want to reflash the ECM.

You'll want the thrust plate version for a TJ.

COMP Cams Xtreme 4x4 Camshafts 163-201-5

HP Tuners is the way to go now and it's not a big deal to do it yourself on a TJ.

The stock fuel map will keep up for the most part. It'll get a bit leaner than stock on open loop in wide open throttle, but not dangerous. Closed loop will maintain 14.7. I ran 1.7 roller rockers which bump intake lift from .404 to .433 without changing the fuel map for 6 months with no issue. After I had a wideband O2 and, some good logs I added 5% in our WOT MAP range (I live at high altitude).

Sad part is Comp is out of raw stock to make that cam and they are sold out everywhere. They are going to custom grind one out of billet for me at the same price.

Check if it is billet steel. If so, you'll want to check if they have a melonized or ntirided gear for for the cam sensor/oil drive. The standard gear for cast iron is a bit softer and might not last as long as you'd llke.
