How many here body mount 33's with stock tailgate hinges? I would love to have a full MORryde setup, but budget doesn't allow it right now.

You can do it, just make sure the tire is up tight against the snubbers and don't do any baja racing.
I had a 35 on a steel wheel hanging off the tailgate for about 6 months before I upgraded to swing out carrier. Didn't have any major issues, but I did have to slam the tailgate to latch it. Once I removed the tire, it operated smoothly
My OE tire carrier with extended height snubbbers cracked while carrying a 33" spare. That happened within a month or two of mounting it.
33" hanging from my original carrier. Has looked fine when previously inspected - guess I better double check.
I hung a 35 off of Kat's OEM tire carrier on the tailgate within a month of buying it new. Tailgate is still flawless and we only moved to the Exogate to support a good product, not because it was needed. If the tire can move going down the road, it will tear up any carrier.

I ran a 33 on mine for several years with it tight to the snubbers. Tailgate did fine but the actual bracket that the tire mounted to started to crack. I run the bestop tire carrier now. I like it.
But you also welded a support to the bumper to take the tire's weight off the spare tire bracket.
I have had a 33 on the tailgate for almost three years without any problems. Used hockey pucks to extend the snubbers out to the tire. Latches easily and does not rattle.
You sure you don't have me confused with someone else? All I've ever done to Kat's is make sure the lower edge of the tire rests on the bumper which generally involves modifying the stock tire carrier by slotting the holes and moving it up.
I've built flip levers for folks to help the tire get up on the bumper but with a 35, if you don't, you generally can't close the gate.
Regardless, if the tire doesn't move, it can't tear up the gate or hinges. If it does move, even the Exogate won't support it long, I've had to fix several where the owners didn't make sure the tire hits the snubbers.
Oh, ok but it's still resting on the bumper. I thought I remembered you showing me a bumper with a tab welded onto it for the spare tire to rest on.
It is only resting on the bumper because if it doesn't, the tail gate won't close. There isn't enough room to slot the holes any further down to move the carrier up. Getting all you can out of the slots is just enough to get the very edge of the tire to clear the bumper which generally means it is resting on it somewhat.
Again though, it isn't the bumper, it is the snubbers that stop the tire from moving.
You can purchase just the HD hinges separately. I caught a sale when I bought mine.

I’m wondering if anyone sells the triangles support piece the bolts to the back of the hinge from the inside to the base of the roll bar.
