MORryde tailgate hinges — can someone get a measurement for me please?

Getting tired of my creaky OE hinges and although I have a brand new set of Kentrol hinges in the parts bin for about a year I am thinking that if I am going to go through the hassle of swapping hinges I might as well go with the MoreRyde.

I have and love the Bestop HighRock 4x4 HD Tire Carrier so I don't need the full MoreRyde kit. Not sure if the MoreRyde hinges will play nice with carrier so need a clearance measurement. How deep are the the MoreRyde hinges.. tailgate to the outer most edge? Stock hinges are 1.25" at their widest.

The carrier has a bend in it to follow the taper in the stock hinges and looks to have about 1.75" total clearance. Not sure if there will be enough room for the MoreRyde hinges.

Thanks in advance!

Morryde hinges are really heavy.

If I did it again I'd get @Fluxor to send me some aluminum ones.

Those are cool. I think maybe @Jezza has some on his site too? Anyway, the Morryde hinge stands off the tailgate just under an inch and a half which I think would work for OP even where his tire carrier bends back in.

You can see my jeep is on the trailer Mac so I’m making some progress in packing.

Last one with the tape off to the side are from the tub itself. The others are from the MORryde plate/skin on the tailgate. View attachment 634378View attachment 634379View attachment 634380View attachment 634381

Thanks. Looks like I have about 0.25" to play with. Appreciate this! Thank you.

No doubt.. they are gorgeous. I doubt they would work with the carrier and I am sure they won't work with the mounting brackets for the Bestop cargo basket which I use often. If I could do it all over again I might go MorRyde and another manufacturers cargo basket but I am kind of committed to the Bestop carrier and basket at this point.

Thank you.

I have to confirm these hinges will work with the BMB billet taillights too. Funny thing... I must have contemplated this in the past as I see I made a similar post in April of 2024, now popping up in the Similar Threads section below.. https://wranglertjforum.com/threads...he-bestop-highrock-4x4-hd-tire-carrier.80581/

BMB tail lights with Moryde/Exogate hinges fits fine

BMB tail lights with FluxOR hinges will require a different lower profile hinge bolt to clear the top of tail light housing.

In this pic, I have only ground the side off the bolt head that overlaps the housing. I haven't gone back in with a better solution yet. It may be enough to lower the tail light a small amount. Blaine designed the housing with four additional mounting holes separate from the three factory holes to place them wherever needed.
