2006 TJ Rubicon

There are a number of ways some easy some maybe not so much.

The Vin number should match to a rubicon. It should say it on the title too unless it runs out of letters like it did on mine. (2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimi......)

The hood decal shouldn't look funky or the wrong color or size letters or location.

The t case should have a identification number for np241 new venture gear. It is the plate that says syracuse new york from when it was still made there.

You can drive the jeep on the road and write down rpms per gear and speed plug them into Grimm jeeper to compare. If stock rubi it should have 4.10s and 30s.

You can look at the axles to see if they are 44s. The diffs have drain plugs as well as fill non rubi axles don't even if 44.

If I'm missing anything let me know. Also there's only one locker switch usually.

Thanx Popper, I did down load pix of the different diffs...was hoping to locate that one locker switch...that would be an easy confirmation...where on the dash/console would it be placed?( Got it Dan- Thnx) ...Also NevMike...if your interested in the '05 I posted - go for it ...I'm a year away from ( gotta sell my bikes) jumping in.

I wouldn't be too bent out of shape about the 30k price.
Car lots always ask high so they can come down in price.
Makes the buyer think they're getting a deal. and the seller still gets top dollar.

Your lawn equipment has motors? My lawn mower is a new version of the old reel mower. I push it and the reel starts spinning to cut my lawn.
my girlfriend has one of those I putz around with once in a while when over there, I have way too much grass to cut and it's way too bumpy, they get caught up on everything.

Speaking of electric pickups, have you checked this thing out:

On Rubicons, The six digit of the vehicle identification number will be the numeral 6- That is the mark of the beast.

I did not know that but sure enough yes 6 is the 6th digit/letter on mine. If only my Rubi was a 2006 instead of 2005. Then I could tell people I have a 2006 6 cylinder 6 speed. 😈😈

I haven’t seen that one before. It kinda reminds me of those cab-over pickups from the 60’s.

Without 2006 you already have too many sixes:

6 cylinder with a 6 speed and the 6th digit is a 6.

Just be happy about that because we may all be going to Hell in a Wrangler but at least we're having fun!

Well after all the things I've done I believe I'm going straight to hell either way 🤫

I am trying to sell my 2006 LJ 6 speed....it's a rusty old bucket and it's turning into a real devil to get rid of. :ROFLMAO:

I didn't watch the video but that looks like some weird modern version of an attempt by some car companies that never succeeded back in the 1930s to deliver the best thing since sliced bread was invented on July 7th, 1928.
