I’ve been trying to figure out a steering issue for months. I’ve done about 20 steering tests. I was getting so much road feedback and it was driving me crazy. I replaced the ball joints and the drag link tie rod end. I thought maybe I was just over-sensitive to road feedback, but I just couldn’t stand it any longer, so I decided to get a Fox steering damper. I’ve read that they have caused some steering to push to the right, but I’ve also read some good feedback from
@kmas0n and
@jjvw, so I decided to give it a shot. My wheels and tires do weight 104lbs, so they are some big mama jammas. When I removed the Rubicon Express steering stabilizer I put 1 finger on the stabilizer and pressed it all the way in with practically no effort. Pull out and push in was nothing. It was completely trashed. It also had some nice dents on it from crashing it on rocks. It was the very first thing I ever put on my Jeep in 2017, and I’ve basically had no steering damper for a while now. I put the Fox damper on and it’s night and day difference. Almost drives like a normal car. Super happy because I’m super picky. ###Yes, I cut that bolt head off to clearance the body of the steering damper.
