If the switch arm is metal and all the pieces are there, can it be brazed back together?

At the time I could only see the part that was broken behind other steering components, so I started researching, and when I finally found it I got it on order ASAP so I can get this Jeep back to this kid. It’s in really rough shap. I can’t braze, but I believe someone who could can fix it.

It was the "blight on the family name " part that led me to the conclusion it was his.

We only allow nice Jeep’s to park over here for extended periods of time, so you can park yours over here anytime!

Back to business. I’m very glad I didn’t remove the TCase and split the halves without cleaning it all up and looking for the leak. I’m about 100% confident you can all tell where ATF is coming from.

The thing about those JB speedoheeler O-Rings is they’re crap. They really are too small, but try finding one with the same ID and a wall thickness that is just ever-so-slightly thicker. Every one I try won’t go in the hole. So, I wrapped some megalock (Teflon like material twice around the sensor, then put the O-Ring on and went for a 30 minute drive. Everything is dry now.

So, I cleaned up all the accumulated dirt and grime from the leak that was everywhere. Now I can get back to business with the raised body mounts. Driver side next. That will complete my project for February.

Good news! My parents bought me a birthday present from Wizard Recovery Gear, so I have a new ST Fairlead coming. That will be super nice.

It is replaced now. Once I got it all together I expected the turn signals to work. They did, then didn’t. I tore it apart again and used some QD electronic cleaner and air to clean it all out. They worked, they didn’t, kept messing with cleaning. They work now, but the cadence of the turn signal is irregular. I cough it up to being 29 years old and poorly maintained. electrical system probably has corrosion. This kid doesn’t want to pay me $100’s of dollars to search for electrical gremlins. If they crap out soon I’ll replace his signal switch relay. It’s also a pain in the butt. Oh well, they work mo better than nothing.

I saw that stick at O’Reilly today for $9.99 at the register, and j almost bought it. Maybe I will now to salvage this part.

The replacement part looks like a stamped steel part not cast.

I finished the GenRight Raised Body Mounts yesterday and today. It was a pain using ratchet straps and brute strength to try to get the body mounts to line up. All good now, and my February project is out of the way!

I think my welding is getting better. I still make some bad mistakes like come off the line as you can see in one photo. Fortunately, I only need 1/2” bead along each side. Fix my bad welding if you see 1, 2, 4 or 20 things wrong! I need all the help I can get!

Got something cool in a box and a couple cool hats to go along with it. My oldest daughter already stole the WRG hat and was wearing it around. When I asked later where it was she just smirked and chuckled. I found it hanging on her hat rack in her room. If she likes it that much maybe I should let her have it. She never asked what WRG meant.

Finally broke into the goods. The box looked like I had already gotten into it, and it had, but the reason is I had received the regular hawse fairlead, had to send it back, and it came back in the same box. This is a nice piece. Confident in the anodizing bc I know Blaine doesn’t settle for anything less than the best.
