The Valeo heater core (OEM supplier to Mopar) for the TJ is made in France.

You do realize the French are pretty shitty engineers, right? :ROFLMAO:

There's a very good chance the OE crank position sensors were always made in China.

I ordered two recently off Amazon (as did @Apparition), and they come in a Mopar box but say "Made in China" on the box.

Again though, were they always made in China? I have no way of knowing. If they weren't always made in China, there's a strong possibility Mopar moved to another supplier at some point.

It's a simple thing for me. If it is made in China, I don't want it. It can be gold plated, I don't care. I don't want Chinese stuff. I will avoid their stuff when I can. They are the enemy of this Country and we will probably be in an active war with them one day...already in a type of war with them now....nuttin' but a bunch of theives.

The unfortunate part about this is that I have to assume that the majority of people in China are good (just like you and me), they are just held hostage by a shitty government and shitty politicians (just like you and me).

I hear what you're saying though. When given a choice, I will avoid anything made in China if I can.

Just checked the CKPS that I purchased several months ago as a spare for my '01; it says Made in UNITED STATES....

The design is different on the 05-06 models (mine is an 06), so I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

At the time of any TJ's manufacture, most parts were likely not made in china. Since then a lot of parts have been and will be transitioned to Chinese manufacturing.

The MOPAR wheel hub bearings are made in China as well. Timken apparently isn't the quality company they used to be. Until all of the US foundries are up and running, it is what we have to deal with if we want parts. Our manufacturing jobs have been squeezed out due to many factors. Impossible regulations, labor drama, greedy politicians, greedy share holders. Hell, Oreo cookies are made in Mexico now. Go back 4 decades and almost every appliance in your home was US made. Are any household appliances and electronics still made in USA?

They have some wicked chassis designers however. My RenaultSport Clio has been a really good vehicle.

They may have gotten far better than they used to be in that case. I know once upon a time the French weren’t very highly regarded as engineers.

That is a fine looking hot hatch though!

The French were always good at designing and building weapons. Swords, rifles, etc. They even invented smokeless gunpowder. Their MAS49/56 is a fun rifle to shoot.

What? Do you mean to tell me that the Peugot motor in my 2009 Mini Cooper SHOULDN'T have imploded at 45k miles because the timing chain guides are made of onion skin paper and shatter when you think negative thoughts?

I didn’t realize those things used Peugeot engines. Of course now that I know that, it would explain all the issues I’ve heard about with them 🤣

Typical modern manufacturing plus don't discount the BMW influence. Far too many plastic parts wearing out in 5-7 years in places that cause major issues when they go south.

Recently received a Mopar part made in Mexico, is that any better than China?

Every Mopar sensor I've ever installed, prior to this one, was made in either US, Canada or Mexico.
