I ordered a new set of Mopar Throttle, Camshaft and Crankshaft position sensors. When I received them, the Throttle and Camshaft sensors were made in USA. The Crankshaft sensor was made in China! It was inevitable that this would happen, but has anyone else seen this same thing, i.e. Mopar sensors "Made in China"?

I think my new TPS sensor might have been, was different from the old OEM one slightly, noticed it cause I don’t normally get MOPAR parts, but for the TPS I poneyed up. At the time I didint really care so long as it solved my problem, but looking back that is kinda frustrating.

It isn't like Mopar was actually manufacturing these bits in the first place. They were probably just getting from the lowest bidder that would meet their design specs and slapped their branding on.

Anything made in China can be made to the same exacting specifications that anything in 'murica, Germany, or Japan can be made to. It's all about the entity ordering them demanding the quality and paying for it. Most companies outsourcing to China for car parts don't. Some do.

* Not anything, but most any car part. Luckily they haven't figured out the metallurgy to make 'murica level jet engines. Yet. I'm sure they'll steal that soon too though.

There's far more to being the OEM for companies like Mopar, Warn, etc. who wouldn't dare jeopardize their reputation with such a hands-off approach as that. OEM manufacturers are subject to regular inspections by Mopar staff and engineers to insure they're adhering to the requirements.

Yeah, absolutely. Mopar (and other OEM auto parts divisions) probably do the same thing as every other industry these days. They build a spec sheet for a part and get bulk production bids from various manufacturers, accept test runs from those who claim can meet the requirements, and outsource to whichever manufacturers produce within specs at the lowest price and at the right quantity. Whether the manufacturer is in the US or China is gonna be super low on the list of priorities. At the end of the day, they're all business decisions just aimed to make money.

Just because it’s made in China doesn’t mean it’s bad, nor does it mean it’s not Mopar.

My crankshaft position sensors are OE Mopar and made in China. What’s the big deal? They are still OE Mopar.

IF they are made in China they may be rebadged Crown parts....
Recently I received a part that was a rebadged Crown part made in China; I returned it and purchased from another vendor that sold Mopar parts made in Canada.

Lots of electronic parts are made in China, including OEM parts. Often times auto manufacturers will also switch suppliers. There’s too many variables here and not enough facts.

It's a simple thing for me. If it is made in China, I don't want it. It can be gold plated, I don't care. I don't want Chinese stuff. I will avoid their stuff when I can. They are the enemy of this Country and we will probably be in an active war with them one day...already in a type of war with them now....nuttin' but a bunch of theives.

I buy stuff from China as often as I can to do my part to help bring down the $1.08 TRILLION dollar debt the US owes them. Just sayin'.:ROFLMAO:

The biggest problem with Chinese goods is, once you send them the part/whatever for them to build to your spec's, they will build what you want and then mass produce a knock off and sell it cheaper.

Just look at Yeti and Ozark trail, same cup same design one is $39.99 and one is $9.99.

Hell, look at what happened to Steve Saleen. Took a butt pounding of the century by the Chi Coms.
