Removing warning labels would solve problems.

Yeah I heard that Washington was having a heat wave....
117 * is not common for the Pacific NW.
No, it’s not. Here in the North Central/Eastern part of the state triple digits isn’t unusual, but this heat wave is unprecedented. I actually feel sorry for the poor bastages west if the mountains.

Oh man, last year here in Socal it got to 119 when I was out in the TJ one time, had just come down from the mountains where it was 40 degrees cooler and it was freaking BRUTAL. Disgusting I couldn't tell if the air was hotter outside or inside of the Jeep my feet were burning up because the floor of the Jeep was so hot I had to pull over and walk into a Mall and wait a few hours for it to cool down. It was about 107 at 7pm and it was still so bad. I even had a pigeon die on top of the Jeep at a gas station I stopped at.

It hasn't been that hot here since the early 1900s through the 1930s. 80% of our record highs were set then when global warming was more worser. I think record highs back then were 120s.

We broke one last week at 105 F. Then we got a bunch of severe thunderstorms and rain. So today it's only in the 80s and 70% humidity. One area nearby got 11 inches of rain yesterday.

We only got 2 or 3 at the house here.

Yeah, I thought it was hot around here at mid to high 90’s, but I’m headed to Idaho tonight and they’re at 110!

That’s stupid hot for Idaho, I expect that in Vegas, not Idaho!

I guess everyone’s suffering in this heat! 🥵

Haven't spent a lot of time in the PNW, do homes typically have central A/C? My wife's fam is in upstate NY & they had temps over 100 a couple years back which is far from the norm. No one up there has A/C in their homes for the most part so it was a tough ride.

Eastern Washington, yes. Western? Haven’t lived there in a number of years, and it wasn’t common practice then. Probably still isn’t.

Because Portland is actually hell. And anyone who says they dont need AC in a TJ ever, is full of it. Unless maybe it's a 'fun' or casual use Jeep.
Whelp. I don’t have AC, nor do I want it. I daily drive mine and I’m pretty sure I’m not full of it. We’ll have to agree to disagree about AC.
I’m onboard with the Portland thing.

Yeah man, doors come off in the spring, go back on in the fall. I have AC, I turn it on occasionally at stoplights just to make sure it still works.

You guys complaining about temperatures in the 90s; that is a spring day by comparison to Furnace Creek.
Their weather today was 120* with 6% RH with a mild breeze.... 🥵
Well yeah, but the 20 some-odd people that live there full time chose to and it’s probably not much of a surprise to them. 🤣

I have a 1960 Ford, it didn't even come with a heater from the factory let alone A/C. People seem to depend on climate control quite a bit these days.

I enjoy Furnace Creek, I stayed nearby at the Inn when it was 127. It is unreal no matter how prepared you are. These days I stay up high at Mahogany Flat where it's normally in the 80s at night peak summer but drive down to the valley floor just to remember what 120 feels like.

Your body needs to adjust to high temps. It takes people a minimum of four days, often weeks, longer than adjusting to high altitude. Most have no interest is washing that much salt from their cloths.
