Hey all I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (I would believe same structure as TJs) and I am hitting the mileage for "Lubricate the Steering, Suspension Ball Joints, Steering Linkage Joints, and outer Tie Rod Ends" per the owners manual at around 36K miles. I can see the Tie rod end Zerk fittings, but where are all the others? She's in really good shape from previous owner, but want to make sure she is running good!

Can Someone tell me where/how many Grease Points there are? I don't want to miss one.

If anyone can post a link to a How To Thread that would be great if this question has already been asked.

The only fittings you should find to my knowledge are the ball joints and tie-rod ends. You may find a few on the driveshaft u-joints, but I don't think they used greaseable fittings.

I'm not sure a how-to thread is really needed. You just attach the grease gun and grease them until they won't take anymore grease and it starts to come out the other end. Wipe off any excess grease and you're good to go.

Lucas Red and Tacky is excellent grease.

Okay I'm tracking derr Jerry.

Jerry is the only forum member to post in fluent German...

As a side note I'm in Huntsville Alabama and we have a rich history with the space program...so I'm working in an older home and I'm in the basement and I'm like who is the maniac that built this house... It's got concrete filled block walls with rebar in between the courses of block and a storm shelter with a 8-in thick concrete lid...

The man that built the house was one of the German scientists that was transplanted here and his job was the launch pad builder for Adolf Hitler's rocket program.

I'm pretty sure the consequences would have been severe if a Launchpad failed.

Plus after we bomb a country back to the Stone age for about 4 years they will rethink their construction methods....

Jerry To the Rescue, thank you. I assume just fill the fittings till grease comes out? Thank you everyone!

Is there the possibility of overfilling the Zerk fittings? When do I know the linkages are filled with good Grease? Is it a just wait until you see the good stuff come out, or will that burst something.

If you notice the rubber boots begin to swell before grease actually oozes out, you can stop there. The grease in the boots is old grease that has already done its job of lubricating the joint itself, and subsequently been forced out of the joint by fresh grease at the last greasing
