Well the new Bronco Spec just raised the bar.

Chevy has nothing, hope they meet the challenge.
I'm sure Toyota will have something new real soon.
But with the JL just introduced, I think Ford will kill Jeep.

Better articulation, lower crawl ratio, 35s from the factory.
Disconnects that release and engage while articulating.
Factory rock rails.

Approach/departure.... Id have to check but pretty sure they beat the JL.
V8s are history. You'll never see one from the factory in a Wrangler either.

Be interesting to see the Ford Used Car Lots filling with Wranglers next year.

Bronco will take a huge shit on wranglers chest lol. This is going to sting a little for sure. It looks great, and 310 HP with right at 400 torque and 35s sounds great. IFS will be great for a lot of people.

I’ve seen IFS do amazing things.
And the Bronco with the 35’s offers better approach and departure than the JL.

If you haven’t driven a 2.7 or 3.5 ecoboost, you just don’t know what your missing. I for one, hated the idea at first. Always vowed if it wasn’t a V8, I a truck with anything less. Then you drive one, realize it has diesel like torque, beats the piss out of the V8 in every way except sound, and is a tune away from stomping all factory V8’s in the trucks offered...

I’ll take the lighter and faster V6!

and I’m super happy with my ecoboost.

I freaking love the 3.5 in my F150, the thing is a beast.

There's going to be a lot of Broncos on the lot in 3-4 years, lots of people are getting caught in marketing hype. There's a lot to like with the Broncos, which conversely means there's lots to prove.

My fathers f150 ecoboost hauls ass. It’s insane lol. The turbo spools are a nice touch too when you give it the beans. I’m impressed. That’s putting it lightly.

It is an amazing engine for sure. It pins you into the seat from the get go and holds to redline. It pulls a load like a freight train.

Mine is a 2015 with the 6 speed and max tow package, so deepest gears Ford offers.

we took it to Vegas. I was doing 85mph+ in Nevada and passed everything I could, so up to 100+ passing.

I STILL managed to get 18 mpg on that trip!

my next door neighbor has a 2018 Denali with the 6.2. That truck is fast and we haven’t raced yet but I know it will be a good one.

He just got back from Montana. He did about the same speed, got 13 mpg. Now, when his truck is drive. At normal speeds he clocks in at 21 mpg or so. But as soon as it gets pushed and goes out of V4 mode, it drinks!

The turbo V6 does better. But if you pull and get into the boost, it drops a lot. Still love the power!

I do a lot on coastal 101 here and I can be passing a logging truck at 50 mph and when I pass the cab it's already almost 90 mph.

Am I seriously the only one who remembers the huge fiasco (and lawsuit) just within this past decade that happened with Ford knowingly selling vehicles with faulty transmissions?

That's ok, Jeep is selling frames that fall apart and I think they know about it.

Was talking to a guy at Freddies here today who came over to look at my Jeep in the parking lot and his new JL is sitting at the local dealer waiting for a decision from FC due to several bad welds.

No. I remember. That was shitty.

I also remember my Ram truck and front ends and steering they knowingly sold for what, 2003 to 2012 and when FINALLY recalled, my truck was in que for almost 2 years. I traded it in before they had parts to fix it.

Jeep has cracking frames at the welds with the JL.

I guess my point is, they all suck. I know you got shafted on your focus, but I’ll be honest and say...the big three don’t make cars. They do trucks the best, with the mustang, corvette and challenger/charger being the decent exception.

they never could do a small or mid size car worth a shit.

I tried to like Ford several times, and had a 1995 F-150 back in the day and the emission system rotted out before 100k. My dad has currently both generations of the 5.4. Both needed overhauled at 200k not to mention the spark plug issues both blowing them out on the 2v and breaking them off on the 3v. I looked at a 2019 Ford and outside I liked it, but the interior is plastic and the fit and finish is low quality. Also the vacuum actuated 4x4 hubs, wtf is that garbage? I am still not over the screwing Ford gave to Firestone either. The Bronco looks cool, but I will reserve any judgement until some reliable reviewers are beating on it for a while.

With the exception of super duty trucks (which still have vacuum actuated hubs BUT an option to manual lock, all have the lame electrical nannies to lock in 4x4. 🤷‍♂️

But your not wrong on your other experiences.
