The decline of restaurants and eating out

If you want to have an angry lunch break. Go watch Caleb hammer on YouTube. I don't feel bad for anyone who says they're broke but also have excessive car payments, is always shopping, always has door dash etc. I just laugh and think, "if only there was some way to reduce your spending so you'd have more money." 🤣🤣🤣

I've seen a couple of his videos and it's amazing how insanely stupid the people are who he has on. I have to wonder how many are manufactured scenarios, or if they're really all that clueless and hopeless.

If they are manufactured then that is some seriously good acting on everyone's part. I think he has a follow-up channel as well.

I hate sitting down at a table and there’s a QR code instead of a menu. WTF? One of my favorite brew pubs started doing that, so I just go to the bar and get my beverage, and that is typically faster than waiting for someone to deliver it to me.

Produce a menu or I'm leaving. Period. With that said, I have yet to encounter this.

You might get some good entertainment. I'm getting a shorter and shorter fuse when it comes to PHOOOOOONNE bullshit.

I believe the restaurants lose 30% on DD, GH deliveries. I know my friggin son's girlfriend ordered a blizzard from DQ at 11.30 pm and it was $11.

Yes, it's significantly more expensive to get delivery from these services. Sometimes people are paying double.

I had a previous co-worker that paid a monthly fee to get 'free' delivery. He ordered for delivery most days of the week. By the time you figure in tip and increased costs (they charge more through the service than if you were getting the food directly) he was always paying significantly more.

I understand ordering from these services occasionally because it's convenient (or you're too lazy to go pick it up). Though if someone is ordering multiple times per week, it really adds up quickly.

There are plenty of people that buy lunch 5 days or more per week. Even if you pick it up, it adds up quickly and becomes a major expense. I used to eat out more. When I got married, my wife agreed to pack my lunch every day if I'll agree to eat out only once per week. Much more healthy that way too.
